For your info my system is in french but I was able to find the different terms to look for.
I tried to follow the instructions that you provided: all went well untill the time to install the printer in the control panel, in my case it is in parameters, printers and spoolers, add a printer, my printer is detected, slected it for install......
But I am not asked for the driver, and do not see a Windows update options.
The installation continues until the printer is shown with the message driver unavailable (pilote non disponible).
During the installation I got a popoup to launch 'HP Envy 4500 Series' application
I launched it and got the message at the end 'software installed and printer installed successfuly and online.
Step 3 invited me to go online and explore the capabilities of the printer and showed me the message your printer is installed and ready for use.
But I still get the same problem
Let us do this, install the full-featured software from the HP website and let us try adding TCP/IP port on it-

Hello,
I have had the same problem for a while now, my printer keeps saying 'service station stalled' every time I turn it on. When I touch OK to start the automatic recovery progress, this keeps popping up... I have tried everything that was on the website, there are no jams, but it looks like the cartridges stop a little bit too far to the left than where it normally should be... Can anyone help me? I've already turned the printer in for repair, but I still have the same problem...
I see that you're unable to set up the printer on USB. I'd recommend you go through the steps from the document HP Printers - 'Device Setup Failed' or 'Unknown Device' Message Displays During USB Installation (Windows) to resolve the issue.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

The only option left is to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.
Hope this helps!

I am trying to set up my new HP Laser 100w printer with my Apple laptop. I cannot find any drivers on the site to download. Is this printer compatible with Apple computers?

The noise could be due to stressed rollers in the printer. As long as you're able to print that should not be an issue.
If it is too much noise I'd suggest you reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
Hope this helps!

Hi
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.
Check the USB connection between the printer and the MAC.
Do you have an Anti-virus/firewall installed on the MAC?
Make sure the cable is directly connected between the MAC and the printer.
The use of a USB hub is not recommended. Also, make sure the cable is connected to a USB 2.0 port on your MAC.
USB 3 devices appear under USB 3.0 Bus, and USB 2 devices appear under USB 2.0 Bus. The printer should be under the USB 2.0 Bus
Once the printer is detected by the MAC, install the printer using the driver from the HP Support site.
Click here to download the driver. Try printing.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Have a great day!
I have an HP Officejet 7310 All In One printer which is about 12 years old. It gets very light use, probably around 25-30 pages per month. It has worked fine until I recently replaced my PC with a new HP Envy TE01 using Windows 10 connected by USB cable. I loaded the latest software and driver per HP instructions but there has been a variety of printing failures. When a print command is given, the printer runs without stopping and prints portions of each page. When the troubleshoot option of the printer setup program is opened there is a message which says the printer needs to be connected to a computer with HP software which it already is. How can I communicate with this printer?
Sorry, you are now part of the club waiting for a fix from HP and/or Apple to fix the scanning issue (not being able to on it seems ANY multifunction printers).
Clean the printhead
Load plain white paper in the input tray.
Press Setup, press the Down Arrow (), press Tools, and then press OK.
Press the Down Arrow () to select Clean Printhead, and then press OK. A test page prints.
You can refer this HP document to fix the issue:- Click here
I hope that helps.
To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.
Cheers.
Looks like there's lots of different issues. It's working fine for me - see attached scan of a book cover. Good luck all!

Thank you, I will take a look at what you did.
Cannot print double sided. First time I tried, the option was there but now it says I can only do it manually. Or if I restart Word and "Select Print on Both Sides", once it starts to print it gives me instructions on how to manually print it.
I also get an error whilst trying to access "Preferences" via the Windows Settings or through Word. If I click "Properties in Word", it sends the error and crashes the program so I have to close it through task manager.

Finally, when accessing the printer properties (see image) and click on "Device settings" it says "Automatic Duplex printing not installed" and I cannot another option.

Would appreciate any advice or tips.
Thanks.
LaserJet Pro M402dn not being found by Mac 10.10.5 shows ip address but can:t get it to print.
Any suggestions

Its specs does not mention anything about Duplex printing
But from the following article you can do this but MANUALLY
"The 3830 can do duplex printing but you have to turn the paper over yourself. It’ll cope with photo paper and envelopes and it supports borderless photo prints."
Hope the following article helps

I tried resetting my printer, but it is still going offline so that I have to turn it off in between print jobs.
My printer was working properly, but when it recently needed a paper refill, the 'printhead error' message appears. There was a recent HP update, which even changed the look of the print instruction screen on my computer. I have tried the shut down, lift, eject, etc. three times as recommended. Not working. What can be done, please?
