Re: Accessing I.R.I.S. OCR

I was recently looking for something similar, and came upon a product called GScan Online. I believe they're also working with integrating further more with printers like HP, but for the time being, it's the best product out there for OCR and fulltext searchable PDFs, quality is amazing. You can download it free to try for a month. It's also integrated with SharePoint, so you can scan to SharePoint directly with GScan Online. They also have a desktop version as well called, GScan.

HP printer updates

When HP tries to send an update and I say "yes" to allow it to download, I get this response:  Could not connect to Content URL/Default Content.

What do I need to do so that HP can download these updates?  Would it be better if I update some other way?

I am quite a novice at all this.

Thanks.

This particular model has a BGA flaw. Over time the main BGA(proccessor) creeps away from it's pads. This will cause lockups. To verify if your printer is locked up simply open the toner door. If the lights DO NOT change, then you are locked up. You can either reball/reflow the BGA or replace the formatter board. The lights will always change status when you open the toner door.

I have put up the firmware on sendspace since it seems to have dissappeared from the net. Here are 2 links. 1 is for the original firmware update tool, a.k.a. The Easy Method.

P2015_FW_Update-20080312.exe

This 2nd one is the extracted RFU file using 7-zip. This is for the people who know how to "net use lpt1: \\pcname\share", "copy /b c:\P2015.rfu lpt1"

P2015.rfu

Good luck.

Hi dogster , thanks for getting back to me!

I appreciate you trying those steps. I know you've reinstalled in the past, but there's a specific set of steps I'd like to try.

I would suggest Uninstalling the Printer Software.

Once it is uninstalled, I would suggest putting your system into clean boot mode within the Microsoft configuration.  You can do so by following this document: How to perform a clean boot in Windows.

Once the computer is in clean boot mode, I would suggest reinstalling the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.

Please let me know how that goes!

Welcome to the forums

I read your post about how you are looking for drivers for your Photosmart C4795.

After checking the drivers that are available for your printer, unfortunately there are no full drivers available for Yosemite.

You would need to install the printer with a Apple Software Update.

Click here for the instructions: Installing a Mac Printer Driver Using Apple Software Update

I hope this helps, have a great day :smileyhappy:

Hi ,

I see that you are having issues printing from the Laptop and iPhone, over the wireless network. I would really like to be able to help you resolve this issue.

Since the blue wireless light is flashing on the printer, it isn't connected to the network.

Run the wireless setup on the printer.

Go to Setup, Network Setup, Wireless Menu, Wireless Setup Wizard.

Print a configuration page to get the printer's IP address.

Printing a Configuration Report.

Select Method one.

If you have a valid IPv4 address for the printer then try and access the Embedded Web Server for the printer. Type the IPv4 address into your web browser's address bar. (Internet Explorer)

If it loads the printer's network page then the printer is on the network.

Download, save and then run the software installation. HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw Drivers.

Select your operating system, click next and click on the software to download and install.

Test the printer.

I have provided this document also for Setting Up the Printer for a Wired or Wireless network for the HP LaserJet Pro 200 Color M251 and M276 Printer Series.

What operating system are you using? How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.

The printer is capable of printing from Word and Excel, you might need to run the updates for Word.

Please provide in detail if you are still having issues, so I can assist you better.

Have a great day!
Thank You.

Re: HPZ12 Missing-How Do I Get This Driver?

Hi

This HPZ12 file is apart of the install package and not available to be installed separately, but I do have another potential solution.

The answer to where the file should be as as follows;  C Drive/Windows/System32

I think in order to get the install package to install fully it would be a good idea to unlock the admin account, then try to install again.

Let's perform a clean boot first; How to perform a clean boot in Windows

How to Unlock Admin Account:

  1. Go to your Start menu and under the 'search programs and files' box type CMD
  2. CMD will populate as a search option above, just right click on it and 'run as administrator'
  3. Once CMD (Command Prompt) opens, type net user administrator /active:yes and hit enter
  4. Next, close CMD and restart your computer
  5. When your computer comes on log into the new account that should show. It will  be called Administrator and will not have a password on it.
  6. If your computer automatically logs into your account after restart than go to your start menu click the arrow beside 'shutdown' and choose 'switch user'. Now log into the Administrator account we just unlocked
  7. Under the Administrator account download and install the drivers: PS_AIO_04_C5500_NonNet_Full_Win_WW_130_140.exe
  8. If everything installs fine, log out of this account and back into your normal user account. All the Software and Drivers for your product should show installed now on your account.

If everything works fine, you will want to Hide the Administrator account.

  1. Go to your Start menu and under the 'search programs and files' box type CMD
  2. CMD will populate as a search option above, just right click on it and 'run as administrator'
  3. Once CMD (Command Prompt) opens, type net user administrator /active:no and hit enter
  4. Next, close CMD and restart your computer

Hope this helps.

Hello ,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I would like to assist you today with resolving the issue of your HP Photosmart C4780 All-in-One Printer disappearing from your Windows 7 computer after a restart. This definitely seems like something is occuring within your computers print system to cause your HP Photosmart to disappear from the computer. To resolve this issue can I please have you follow the steps below .

Step 1: Run Microsoft FixIt:

To start, I am going to have you run a Microsoft Tool that is designed to scan your computer for potential printer and print system issues within the computer. Should any issues be found than the Microsoft FixIt Tool will attempt to resolve those issues for you. Please click here to download the Microsoft Tool. Once the website opens under step (2) select 'Print, fax, scan, share or save'. Under step (3) select Run Now for 'Diagnoze and fix printer and printing problems automatically'. Please follow any onscreen instructions to allow the Microsoft Tool to run.

Once the Tool has completed, please restart your computer to verify if the printer is still showing installed. If the issue persists, please proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Run The Windows 7 Update:

There has been a patch released to correct network connection issues with your model of printer on Windows 7. This patch was released by HP. Please click here to install the HP patch. Once the website opens select the Download button on the top left hand corner. Once the download is complete please follow any onscreen instructions to install the patch.

Once the patch has been successfully installed please restart your computer to verify if the issue has now been resolved.

Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. Should the issue persist there are additional steps I can have you run through. I look forward to hearing from you! :smileyhappy:
