Just purchased a HP Envy x360 laptop.  Have a wireless Brother Printer.  When I send a file to print, the printed copy is printing in negative. (black background/white letters)  This is only happening when I print from the laptop.  I have no idea how to correct this!

What happens when you print regular documents or pictures?

How long does the progress bar stay at 0%?

Are you able to see the PDF document in the print queue?

Try making a standalone copy and check if that works.

For now, let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

Check the estimated ink levels

On the printer control panel, touch the Ink icon  to display the current estimated ink levels.

Clean the ink cartridges

  1. On the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, then touch Setup.

  2. Touch Tools, then touch Clean Cartridges.

Also, perform steps 13 mentioned in this document.

Print a Print Quality Diagnostic report

  1. On the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, and then touch Setup.

  2. Touch Tools.

  3. Swipe up on the display, and then touch Print Quality Report.

Let me know how this goes.

In general, unless something has happened directly after an Update, the printer software, printer connection, and printer (itself) controls the output (what data looks like when printed).  If the issue does surface after an update (Windows Update or computer driver / software update, for example), uninstalling and then reinstalling the printer software may help untangle the troublespot.

If you have not done so, consider checking the printer setup, including whether you need to reinstall the printer software.  Test, too, the printer itself (print test pages, for example, that can tell you if the printer is functioning as expected).

Please perform a printer reset

- Turn on the printer.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- Disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the printer. If your printer has a network or wireless connection, leave it connected.
- Remove the ink cartridges from the printer.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and from the wall outlet or power strip.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to a wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
- Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
- Reinsert the ink cartridges, and then close the ink cartridge access door.
- If you receive a prompt to print a calibration page, do so.

Also update the Firmware from this Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168

Let me know how it goes 😊

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Have you tried connecting the Printer directly to the wall outlet?

Are you able to make a copy?  When you have the screen up, go to the setup menu, go to tools and then Restore Factory Defaults.

Let me know if this helps.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's try to hard reset the Printer here:

Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

  1. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  2. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  3. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  4. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  5. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  6. NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
  7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  9. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Try removing the ink cartridges and then inserting them back in.

If the issue persists, we'll have to perform a reset on the Printer for this. I have sent you a private message, for more details that cannot be shared in a public post.

Please do check your inbox on the forums page for the private message.

Let me know if this helps.

Windows 10.  HP8020 via USB.  After reboot there are 2 copies, Printer and Printer copy1.  Then when printing sometimes have to use Printer, sometimes copy 1.  No way to tell.  Removed all printers.  Rebooted.  Confirmed all are gone.  Installed Printer.  Only one copy is there.  After a reboot windows or HP installs the copy again without any prompts.  Caught in endless circle.  Suggestions?

Super frustrated.  Envy 5531 disappeared from my laptop.  Was working fine a couple days ago and then poof.   Tried several times to redownload it from HP and though the downloads came through it will not install.  Shut down all, rebooted all, redownloaded and still will not install.  Window pops up Unsuccessful Installation, and on one attempt I got an incompatible message.  I'm not going to start cussing yet; but pretty close.  HELP

Officejet 4650 not printing

REcently had to change laptops to a Dell Inspiron 15 5500 series using W10 Pro.  It replaced my HP Elite notebook running W10 Pro....the printer hasn't changed HP Officejet 4652 series.  The problem is when I try to install this unit on the new laptop it shows up but offline and will not print.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled 25 times and still I am no where.  My IT dept logged in and confirmed it is not a driver, it is not the printer and it is not the Network, but could not fix it....I am at a total loss.  Looking for help.

How do you scan on a mac?

$

Using the HP Smart software, my Officejet 9015 was recognized on a PC and I was able to download a full set of drivers, including for Scan. Trying to set up that printer on a MAC, however, it seems like HP Smart only brings up a generic MAC printer driver (and not the full set of drivers), that does not include capability to scan a document to a Mac (as it does on a PC). Is this new product (the 9015) essentially incompatible with a MAC with no software that will enable the 9015 to scan to a MAC ?

I was able to get it to work with Windows 10 version 1903 with the full driver however it printed so slow it was basically unusable. Was it able to print properly for you while using the universal driver?
