Hi!

I know that my printer (HP Laser Jet MF 3228) is too old, but it still functions very well, so I decided to give it a try!

However, the HP Help Assistant would not see the printer and just can't find the proper driver manually.

Can you somehow assist in solving this issue, please?

Hi all,

So I have a deskjet printer, when I try to print through my MacBook I get nothing. The MacBook shows that the printer is connected and if I pause the printing it tells me that there is a document in the queue when I resume it I get nothing printed and the queue gets empty.

I have two brands of printers and multifunctionals. The other brand has very useful function to inform me by email (SMTP service) about toner running low and other statuses or events. I can not find this function in this HP device embedded web page. Is it available? Can you help me to find it?

The device is connected to IP network.

Same here....I have The Officejet Pro 8630 and on my printer I turned off automatic updates but my husband decided to check for updates and saw that there was one available and went ahead and press yes to download the update, now my printer isn't working anymore with this new firmware. My printer is reporting that all my cartridges are damaged.

Unfortunately, it was a very temporary fix. Now both printers have the same problem.

The message appears that there is still a file in queue, even if there isn't, which prevents printing.
Printed files are not deleted or only after quite some time.

Is there anything else I can do?

Problem connecting DJ2540 to laptop

Hi,

 

I have a new work laptop running Windows 10 Pro and I can't connect to my personal DJ2540.

 

During setup the installation setup recognises the Printer but won't connect.

 

I've downloaded Windows 10 driver for the printer, but that still hasn't worked!

It has been a week since running the HP P&S Dr.  I have checked every day, until today the duplex feature remained "installed".  Today, it's "not installed".  

 

I will try the 2nd "fix" you recommended and get back to you on the results.

Can't download driver software for HP Envy onto MAC. Error message occurs

Hi. I had to uninstall my printer because the Mac couldn't see it. However when I came to reinstall it, although the Mac can now see it, I need got a error message and was prompted to download the driver. The zip file appears to download but cannot be opened and I get an error message saying it hasn't finishing downloading, despite waiting some time. I have tried in Safari and Chrome and neither worked.  An adviser at Apple watched me and thinks its an issue with the file. Please can anyone help? Thank you

Run HP Print and Scan doctor to rectify any driver issues, click here to download the same.

Once downloaded, run the file and select 'Fix printing'.

Try to print. If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.

 

If re-installing HP Full-featured drivers did not help, try installing Windows built-in drivers.

Driver Update

I have an HP Deskjet F4235 All-in-One printer. I recently upgraded to the latest version of Windows 10 (1903) which came out in May 2019.  However, the HP driver software will not load the driver.  I have tried HP Print and Scan Doctor and it simply provides the same driver as you get from the HP website.  I therefore have concluded that HP Deskjet F4200 series printers are now antiquated, unless HP intends to update the existing driver software which is over 4 years old now (2015).  Do you know if HP intends to update this driver for the new 1903 version of Windows 10?.

Problems setting up HP Envy 6234 printer on home network

I've been around the houses trying to fix this.  I have bought the HP Envy 6234 printer, which works fine on three of my computers / laptops, but my HP laptop on Windows 10 64 bit simply won't install via wifi.

It manages to install it as a scanner, but not a printer.  I get a "driver not found" message, which is really odd.   I've download the drivers etc but they just won't install.   I've tried all the fixes, used the HP doctor, had my work IT support have a look at it, and I'm really frustrated now.  I've checked my network, and the printer seems very happy with it.  so its something to do with this laptop... which happens to be HP as well!! (its a Spectre laptop)

Printer offline

My printer is connected via wireless to my laptop. When the laptop goes to sleep, the communication with the printer shuts down and when I wake up the laptop I have to shut down the printer and restart it so that I can use it to print and/or scan....even though the wifi light indicator ways the printer is connected to the wifi. Is there a setting somewhere that will keep the printer online so I don't have to reboot it every time I want to use it?

  • What model printer do you use?
  • Also, check if the printer has the right Date and Time.

Power resetting the network devices, checking the web services and updating the printer firmware may resolve this issue. Let us try these steps: 

 

Restart the computer, printer, and router

  1. Turn off the router by pressing the power button or disconnecting the power cord.

  2. Turn off the printer.

  3. Close all running programs on your computer, and then shut down the computer.

  4. Press the power button or reconnect the power cord to the router, and then wait for the Internet activity light to display a normal connected status.

  5. Turn on the printer.

  6. Turn on the computer.

  7. Check if web services is ON on the printer. Click here to know how.

  8. Note: If it is ON, turn it OFF and then turn it back ON again.

Also, Turn on Web Services from the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

  1. Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to obtain the IP address.
  2. Type the IP address at the top of your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
  3. If you get any security notification, click on show details and 'proceed to this website'.
  4. On the EWS webpage, click the Web Services tab.

  5. On the Web Services Setup page, click Continue, Turn On, or Enable, and then follow the on-screen instructions.

  6. Example of clicking Continue.

If the issue persists, continue to the next step.

 

Update the printer firmware
