I was able to use the original CD disk that came with the printer.  It allowed the printer install process to complete.  The printer will now allow for printing but not scanning.  When I run HP Print and Scan Doctor for scanning it hangs at

I don't know.

Could be something trapped / tangled in one of the Temp folders that is hanging the installation.

Could be a bad registry key.

Could be a bad port.

  1. How-to “Create TCP Port” Contributed by greenturtle

Create TCP IP port

1. Print a Configuration Page to get the printer's IPv4 address (you can also tap on the wireless icon on the Front panel of your Printer to get the IP address)
2. On your PC, go to Control Panel, from Devices and Printers, right click the printer and left click Printer Properties, select the Ports tab.
3. Click Add Port, select Standard TCP/IP Port, then select New Port and follow the wizard.
4. Type in the proper IP address for the printer.

This video resource will show you how to do it:
Create & Use TCP IP port

Note that you can ALWAYS revert back to the original port that the HP software installed by selecting the HP port under the Ports tab (in Printer Properties)

Could be a failed network installation (assuming you are installing the printer on the network).

For example, for Wireless,

IF the printer softwere is sufficiently installed, the following software will work for scanning..

HP Scan Extended – Exceptional free HP scan program:  HPScan Extended features include (and are not limited to): Single, Multiple scans, Image and PDF scans, Page Size choices include Auto-Detect (extracts image / document boundary). Download, save, and install to use.

NOTES

  • HPSE is an older subset of the printer software; features are very similar to scan software included in 2015 or newer Full Feature Software packages.
  • If you have the newer version of the scan software inside your Full Feature Software, use that: Printer Assistant shortcut icon on Desktop (named for printer) > Scan a document or image (wording varies).
  • Although the HPSE program works as a separate program, HPSE is dependent on the infrastructure provided by the printer software. The Full Feature Software for your printer should be installed before installing HPSE.

NAPS2 -- Not another PDF Scanner – free program scans PDF files and image(s) as .jpeg or PDF file(s).  Includes OCR.  Download, save, and install to use.

Variable Typefaces in SmartStream Designer 13.0 InDesign CC 2018

Hello,

I am working on a project for a client in SmartStream Designer using Variable Images and Text.

One of the requirements of the job is that the typeface changes to match the Variable Image used. Is there a way to do this so that they are only sending one data file?

Thank you for any help you can lend me.

A warm welcome to HP Forums! This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

As per the printer specifications available here, HP LaserJet Pro MFP M130fn Printer is not wireless capable. I'm afraid, you have to connect the printer using Ethernet cable or USB. HP LaserJet Pro MFP M130fn printer is compatible with macOS 10.14 Mojave. If the printer is connected to your WiFi router using an Ethernet cable then you can setup the printer with Apple AirPrint, you may use step 2 from this document to the printer with Apple AirPrint. If the printer is connected to your Mac using a USB cable, then you can use HP Easy start application to set up your HP printer and prepare your Mac for printing. HP Easy Start will locate and install the latest software for your printer and then guide you through printer setup. You may download HP Easy start application from here

Let me know how it goes!

Welcome to the HP Forums :) I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

I’d suggest you clean the paper pick rollers and the paper path to try and fix the issue.

Go to HP Printers - 'Paper Jam' Error and follow Step 5.

If the issue still persists, perform a power reset

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  5. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  6. Turn on the printer.

Clear any jammed paper from the printer.

Make sure that the printer is placed on a flat surface.

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.

  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

  3. While the printer is still on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer, and then unplug the power cord from the power source or electrical outlet.

  4. Disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the printer, if you have a cable connection to the printer.

  5. Turn the printer onto its right side so you can access its underside. Make sure to hold the printer firmly with one hand to avoid tipping.

Figure: Turn the printer onto its right side

Image: Turn the printer onto its right side

  1. Use a flashlight to check the surface directly under and around where the printer sits for the following:

    • Pieces of paper trapped in the input tray

    • Small, hard objects, such as cables, pens, pencils, and books

    • Soft or uneven surfaces, such as placemats or carpet-like material

  2. Remove any obstructions that might remain.

  3. Push in the input tray, and then turn the printer over to the upright position.

  4. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer, and then plug in the power cord to an electrical outlet.

  5. Reconnect the USB or Ethernet cable, unless your printer is connected to a wireless network.

  6. Turn on the printer.

Let me know if this helps.

@juicy9229

It looks like you were interacting with @The_Fossette, but he is out for the day & I'll be glad to help you out.

It sounds like an issue with the printer driver installed on your Mac, removing the existing driver and adding a compatible driver may resolve the issue. Let's try these steps:

1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.

2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.

3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button  at the bottom of the list.

4.) Click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.

5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select the name of your printer in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.

Select the name of your printer in the Use menu

6.) Try to print.

Let me know how it goes!

HP Envy 5660 Connected to Windows 10 PC but Still Won't Print

Let me start out by saying I have tried all the fixes I have found on google and nothing has worked. I have tried uninstalling all instances of the printer and drivers from my computer and reinstalling all from scratch. I have tried uninstalling and plugging the printer into the PC via usb cable and reinstalling everything. I have tried both HP and Windows 10 troubleshooters. I am connected to my 2.4ghz wifi network. I have tried changing wifi channel and also restarting router and computer and printer. I have tried connecting the printer by wifi Direct printing. I have made sure the PC has shared printing enabled. I have tried everything and nothing seems to work.

With all that said my other Windows 10 PC works fine with my printer both PC's are on the same Windows version 1809 and both are on same networks. My phones work for printing as well with no issue. It is just my wifes PC that will not print. My wifes PC sees the printer it is installed and all but when I try to print nothing happens on the printer end of things. When I try to print test page it says 1 item in queue for a moment than its says printer idle.

I dont know what to do at this point so I need help please and thank you. If any additional information is needed just ask me and ill get it to you asap.

Welcome to HP forums, I see that paper is getting stuck on the printer while printing.

  • Are you getting any error message?

Meanwhile:

Clear a jam from the inside of the printer.

  1. Turn off the printer.

  2. Disconnect the power cord and any other cable.

       WARNING:

You must disconnect the power cord before reaching inside the printer to avoid risk of injuries or electric shock.

  3. Remove jammed paper from the following areas.

    • Ink or toner cartridge access area

Open the access door, move the carriage if necessary, and then remove any jammed paper. On some Laserjet printers, you might need to remove the toner cartridge and/or imaging drum to access the paper jam.

Examples of clearing a jam in the ink cartridge access area

    • Under the paper path cover

If your printer has a paper path cover behind the carriage, remove the cover, and then remove any jammed paper.

Example of removing the paper path cover and clearing a jam

    • Input tray

Pull out the input tray, and then remove any jammed paper.

Example of removing a jam from the input tray area

    • Bottom cleanout door

If your printer has a bottom cleanout door, carefully lift the printer and look under it, and then remove any jammed paper from the bottom cleanout.

Example of clearing jam from the bottom cleanout door

    • Rear access door

Remove the paper path cover if necessary.

Example of removing the paper path cover and clearing a rear door jam

  4. Replace any parts that were removed, and close any open doors.

  5. Reconnect the power cord, and other cables that were disconnected.

  6. Turn on the printer.

My printer is printing jobs from unknown users. I see some printouts that says they can print to any printer. I get these weird printouts that are from hate groups or other strange sources. How do I set the Win 10 printer security to stop them, but allow me an my wife to print. I have the printer on a ethernet connection. This is a home network.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

It's great to have you back and your patience is greatly appreciated.

I'm glad to hear you found the printer partially working however, you are still having issues printing in colour from your PC.

This looks like a Operating system issue, I would suggest you go ahead and follow the steps from the previous post to create a new user account and then try to install the printer software.

Let me know how it goes for further assistance.

Waiting for your response!
