My HP Envy 4520 seemed to stop working when I upgraded to Mojave 10.14 on my Mac.
When I tried to set-up the printer again I get "The file “HP_Easy_Start.app.zip.download” doesn’t appear to be a valid download file" as an error.
Please advise.

Thanks. I have installed HP Scan Extended but, when I run it I get the message that the HP Imaging device was not found. I have tried running a scan by right clicking on the printer in Devices and Printers and clicking on Scan but I am now getting the message that I need a WIA driver. Prior to installing HP Scan Extended, I was able to scan through Devices and Printers. When I check in Services, WIA is Running and Automatic. There appears to be a problem with the printer and my network that occurred suddenly on Saturday. Have there been any updates in Windows 10 that might have caused the issue? Am I right in thinking that the interface with the printer has changed?
I tried clicking on Troubleshoot for the printer in Devices and Printer and get the message that the problem could not be fixed because the printer cannot be contacted over the network. Very confusing because I am using the printer to print and it is only connected to my PC through the network.

I tried printing from a different computer, and it worked perfectly. There's no HP software on the other computer.
The computer I'm having trouble with is a MSI Trident 3, with Windows 10 64 bit.
The issue still exists.
There was no firmware update to apply.
After going through the process, it is the same process that I had followed, except that I had also went to the %temp% folder and deleted what was there from prior attempts.

Really not sure what's hindering the scan.
Going to suggest the Webscan. Webscan is generic across Windows, Mac, Chromebook and Linux.
Here's some resource to get you started on Webscan:

I'm running Windows 10 with an OfficeJet Pro 8710. The printer leaves a margin about 0.5" wide on the left side of the envelope. I've created a custom paper size in the server settings and still the printer prints it improperly.

I have the latest drivers and applications installed via HP support. The Status and Alerts does not always launch when my computer is booted. I sometimes get an Administrator message asking if I want to allow the program to make changes on my computer and other times it does not show up at all (and the software doesn't start either). It does not matter if the printer is turned on or not at boot. When the software does manage to start, I get the status and alerts while printing but with mixed results. Sometimes I get bar graphs for toner levels and sometimes I get a message telling me what the toner levels are. I have not tried using the software on my laptop which has Windows 10 Pro installed. Right now I'm keeping this restricted to my Windows 7 Pro (64-bit) desktop.

You must contact HP Support in New Zealand to perform a pen regionalization to allow using ink cartridges from another region.
Be sure to have a full set of Genuine HP ink cartridges and have the printer connected to a Windows PC or a Mac computer, then follow these steps to dispute the warranty:

Select "An issue with my cartridges, etc and clearly describe in the notes that you moved with the printer to another country, once verified you will get an email back with a case number and the contact details.

What is the size of the downloaded file?
Have you tried downloading it from another browser as well?
From seeing the file size as HP_Easy_Start.app.zip.download, it likely occurs due to a download issue and the download does not complete successfully.

I have the same issue and it is now a month later (November 12). (HP Laser Printer P1006 unable to function with OS Mojave). Does anyone have any idea when HP will develop a printer driver compatible with Mojave 10.14? I am stuck, and I would rather not have to delete Mojave and go back to Sierra. Is that my only option?

I have been trying to get the printer working, but have not been able to.
I can get the software for the printer, but when I click on the saved version on my pc or try to run it from the HP site, it does not install. Trying to running it from the site initially showed it was extracting, but no longer extracts. Running it from the saved version on my pc does extract, but does not install (does not show the install windows).
Can you help?

Mmm. Yes, thanks. I manged to download HP Easy Start using the Firefox browser. [I was using Safari beforehand and I was getting that error message].
