Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out :)

As I understand, your printer does not connect through USB or Wireless,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

What is the operating system on PC?

When was the last time it worked fine?

Were there any hardware/software changes made?

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?

What is the exact error message while trying to connect to Wi-Fi?

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:

For Wi-Fi issue:

Perform Restore network defaults:

Restore network settings to default settings

● Press the Wireless button and the Cancel button from the printer control panel at the same time, and then hold them for three seconds.

Once completed, connect the printer to Wi-Fi:

Wireless Printer Setup (Windows): http://bit.ly/2mWeiTJ

Wireless Printer Setup (Mac): http://bit.ly/2MS6HSr

Or you could try these steps:

Changing from a USB to a Wireless Connection: http://bit.ly/2mU7RAx

Once I have the operating system I will help you with USB connectivity troubleshooting,

Keep me posted,

Cheers :)

Thank you for responding,

It's great to have you back ;)

Try the steps given below:

Turn on the printer.

Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

Disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the printer. If your printer has a network or wireless connection, leave it connected.

Remove the ink cartridges from the printer.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and from the wall outlet or power strip.

Wait at least 60 seconds.

Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to a wall outlet.

Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.

Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Reinsert the ink cartridges, and then close the ink cartridge access door.

If you receive a prompt to print a calibration page, do so.

If you disconnected the USB cable, reconnect it to the rear of the printer.

Try to print.

Let me know how it goes. ;)

After reviewing your post thoroughly, I see that you need assistance with firmware update. Don't worry I'm going to help you with this.

I would suggest here is to update the printer firmware - You can also update the Firmware, you can directly update the printer firmware from the printer control panel or download the software from our HP support website,

If your printer connected wirelessly, make sure to temporary connect the device with USB and then follow the link to check for the latest firmware update if available for your printer, using this website.  You might need a Windows PC to run the firmware. Once done, restart the printer.

LaserJet Pro MFP M225 does not complete initialization

I tried the other solution previously mentioned, the solution did not help because the screen never comes past the initialization. I can not see the cancel button or copy button because it is a touchscreen keypad and not the keyboard type, is there a different solution to this matter? It stays on the initialization screen and the rotating  dial stops at 3/4 the way around. Ive tried updated the firmware, it doesnt even let my computer recognize it is plugged in. Is there a button inside to push that will reset to factory settings? I can push the help button and it will let me halfway guide through it but the main menu will never come up. I would also say that approximately every 30 minutes or maybe more, it cycles like it is about to start working all of a sudden. I have left it on for days at a time hoping it will fix itself but thats a no-go at this station. I have unplugged it and left it unplugged for weeks and still nothing. Ill be more than happy to answer any more questions you may need to help me, thank you.

Hi Krazy Toad,

Thanks for the new suggestions, but there is a problem.  The link you provided led me to the same version of the PSDR that I have and it is V 5.0.3.  This version has no option for "Fix Printing" that you suggested. I went through the steps until that and my screen showed the C5180 was installed and showed the IP.  I clicked on "Next" and it went to the troubleshooting page, saying it couldn't communicate to the printer.  As I said, there is no option to "Fix Printing" so I am stuck.  I can't  seem to find a way to download the earlier version, the 5.0.2 you suggested.  I tried all the troubleshooting options still no success.  I think I am going to try to set it up using a USB cable instead of the networking option.   I keep you informed, Thanks

Connecting Deskjet 2540 to iMac and iPhones

Hi!

I need help connecting my HP Deskjet 2540 printer to my iMac and iPhones. I got a new modem from my internet provider and someone on this forum was able to help me get the modem and printer connected through HP Easy Start, but the only device we can print from wirelessly is the iPad. We aren't able to print from our iMac and iPhones.

Thank you!

Mac can no longer print to HP OfficeJet 8600 even when PCs can

$

In reference to this long and, for me, futile thread, I've experienced the dreaded "used to be able to print to HP OfficeJet 8600 from my Mac and now suddenly I can't" issue as well. My printer is connected to the network because every PC in the house can print to it just fine. It's only my Mac that cannot print to it, or even see it on the network at this point.

Here's what I've done:

1. Tried over and over and over again to reinstall the HP Easy Start.

2. Deleted the printer from the Printers & Scanners dialog box and completely wiped the Mac of all traces of old HP software, then tried over and over again to reinstall the HP Easy Start. But now it doesn't see the printer at all.

3. Tried adding it via IPv4 IP address through the "+" icon in Printers & Scanners and then using the "IP" globe icon in the dialog, but because of the total wipe I did in #2, I no longer have the HP OfficeJet 8600 option to choose from in the list. And I can't get it back because the HP Easy Start dialog won't complete since it can't find the printer.

I'm in an Infinite Loop of Futility. Please help.

I got it working with the built in driver, but I had to extract the download file with 7zip and tell the add a printer thing I had a disk, then proceeded to point it in the direction of the folder I extracted the files to. That was the only way it worked.

of course now the scanner is dead, but I can just get a separate scanner for that...happy the print and copy functions are working. 2/3 is a good outcome.

thanks for your help!

Thank you so much for your help.

The printer function works with this driver. Unfortunately, there is no driver for the scanner function of the SAMSUNG Xpress C460FW. Does anybody know when SAMSUNG will provide the scanner driver software for the operating system macOS High Sierra 10.13.2?

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

What printer model are you using?  Try to uninstall and reinstall the printer software, which can be downloaded from HP.

Please Uninstall and Reinstall the FULL feature software following these steps:

1. Uninstall the software in your computer
2. Download and save the FULL feature software (do not install it online)

The following resource will help you :
https://support.hp.com/sg-en/drivers

Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.

Alternatively, this link will also help to download and install the FULL feature software.

https://123.hp.com/us/en/

3. Install the FULL feature “Saved” software

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

If you are not sure how to do this, the following resource will walk you through the steps:

How to Uninstall Download & Reinstall a Printer software

Hope that helps!
