, It's a quick response from you. I was indeed waiting for your response.

I appreciate your efforts for trying out the steps.

Please uninstall the printer software from the root level and install the printer basic drivers.

1. Navigate to Start >Type Devices and Printers in the Search > Select it from the results

2. Highlight your printer object and Right Click

3. Choose Remove Device

4. Highlight something else from the list

5. Click the Print Server Properties button from the toolbar

6. Select the Drivers Tab

7. Highlight the appropriate print driver

8. Click Remove

9. Check the Remove Driver and Driver Package option when prompted

10. Click OK

Please find the link to update printer basic drivers.

Let me know if this works!
Have a pleasant day ahead! Smiley Happy

OJP 8600 dynamic security issue affecting non-hp original ink

$

Firmware version: CKP1CN1304AR

Software version: 028.000.1315.000

Printer Driver version: 09.84.00.1173

This printer seems to be affected by dynamic security feature since it only recognizes OEM cartridges and we tried several 3rd party cartridges/chips with no success.

There is an optional firmware downgrade available for several Officejet, Officejet Pro and Officejet ProX printers models on hp website ( https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-officejet-pro-8610-e-all-in-one-printer-series/5367603/model/5367606/document/c05308850/ ); however the printer in reference is not included.

Please provide a solution to remove dynamic security feature on OJP 8600 N911a, so non-hp original ink can be used.

Thank you in advance for your reply.

Regards.

Printer will not connect to wireless network

I recently posted on here because my printer was delayed between print jobs.  I got a response, followed the instructions, and it worked.  Now, a few days later, my printer won't connect to the wireless network, and therefore can't print.

My printer network test results say that MAC filtering might be enabled.  I have checked that it's not on my Verizon Fios Gateway router setting. (It was already disabled).

I have done also done all the following:

I followed the instructions from the wireless setup wizard with the WPS button, and I have tried entering the WPN password.

I have removed and re-installed the driver.

I have reset my printer by unplugging it from the wall outlet for 60 seconds and then reconnecting it.

I have spent way too much time on this, and I am getting nowhere.  I have seen similar posts in the forum, but they got me nowhere.

Please help!

I cannot search for drivers

When I am on the HP website searching for drivers, it won't actually let me press the search button. No matter what I type in, the search button is permanently grey. I am looking for the driver for the officejet pro 8715. If someone could provide a link for the driver that would be just as good as fixing the actual search problem.

My printer printed one time. My drive wouldn't automatically set it up so I did it manually. It prints test pages but nothing online. i keep getting the message of:  USB Composite Device can't work properly with USB 3.0. I have an HP laptop I set it up on which maybe be a year old. I know it is Windows 10. Any help is so much appreciated.

Hi ,

Thank you for showing your interest in HP Support Forums. It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for the First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.

I understand you are getting Printer in error state error message on your HP Envy 5540 printer. I'll be really glad to help you.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

How is the printer connected (USB/Wired/Wireless)?

Have you made any changes on the printer before the issue started?

In the meantime, let's try these steps here:

Please make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

Perform a Hard reset on the printer.

* With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

* Remove USB cable, if present.

* Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

* Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

* Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

* Now try to print a test page and check if it works.

If you’re running Windows, I would start by checking the installed printer software by downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor. This tool can diagnose and fix many printing and printer software related issues. Please use this link to help you with that information: http://hp.care/2biN2XE

If your printer connected wirelessly, make sure to temporary connect the device with USB and then follow the link to check for the latest firmware update if available for your printer, using this website

If the issue persists, I would suggest you go ahead and uninstall the printer drivers and then install the full feature software

Let's try these steps here:

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Restart the PC

14 ). Now click on this link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL41871/mp-109007-3/OJ6700_1315-1.exe and install the updated printer drivers

15 ). Now connect the USB cables only when prompted.

Let me know if those steps worked for you.

If they did, that’s awesome!

Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

That’ll help us and others see that we’ve got the answers!

Good Luck.

Bought theis printer about 6 months ago.  Had it installed by a computer repairman and it worked at his place but not at home.  He made a housecall and suggested I make sure the printer is on before turning on laptop.  Still doesnt work and I have printed over 100 test pages but no connection.  It shows a question mark to the left of the touch screen and I have no idea what it mean or how to get rid of it.  Help please.  If I had kept the receipt, it would have gone back.  Thanks

Have a problem with duplet settings on LaserJet 2055dn drivers (2050 family) :

My printer is network attached, and duplex printer settings not available to users, dupplex option setting is grayed off.  Whet this option is modified in 'Printers', system asks for Administrator credentials, to make duplex option active. But this works only for active session, after reboot or relogon duplex again unavailable.

HP driver can't complete setup with wireless printer

I have a Windows 7 PC that I cannot for the life of me get to connect to my wireless HP b209a printer. I have verified that both the computer AND the printer are connected to the same network. I was able to get the driver installed on both our laptops and even phones but the installer fails every time on my desktop. It will take me through the setup and it will find the printer but it fails to install EVERY time. Every single time I've tried it (at least 15 times now) I get this:

printer.PNG

Can someone PLEASE come up with a solution for me. This is the only one of our computers that I've had any trouble with.

Thanks in advance!

This is EXACTLY my problem, and I have tried these EXACT solutions to no avail.  Problem started around the end of March. Nothing works.

Re: Problem with HP printer all in one shortcut on desktop

THis program just installs a shortcut named HP Scan on my desktop, next to the old shortcut for the HP Envy. Yes I can scan now, but still it is a miracle why in the old shortcut the scanfunction is no longer working.

I tried ro reinstall the full extend version, but without any success.

So I will send a mail to HP and ask them how I can restore the normal shortcut called Printer Help  with the scanfunction

Hi,

Can you try using a TCP/IP port?  That's provided that the printer is connected to the network.

Create a TCP IP port

1. Print a Configuration Page to get the printer's IPv4 address (you can also tap on the wireless icon on the Front panel of your Printer to get the IP address)
2. On your PC, go to Control Panel, from Devices and Printers, right click the printer and left click Printer Properties, select the Ports tab.
3. Click Add Port, select Standard TCP/IP Port, then select New Port and follow the wizard.
4. Type in the proper IP address for the printer.

This video resource will show you how to do it:

Create & Use TCP IP port

Note that you can ALWAYS revert back to the original port that the HP software installed by selecting the HP port under the Ports tab (in Printer Properties)

Let us know if that works
