UPD Confusion with DLL

Hi All,

 

We have about 12 network printers here which are mostly HP.

 

The HP printers are all networked laserjet of models: 3005, 2420, 4200, 4350.

 

I am using the universal print driver and installing the driver directly to my server so I do not use the install.exe file rather I install the driver through windows print management.

 

The priblem though is that it lists all of the below inf files and I never know which one to choose. I usually guess, which does make the printer work, I would really like to clarify this though,

 

hpbuio200l.inf
hpbuio200le.inf
hpcu190u.inf
hpmews02.inf
hpmldm02.inf
hppewnd.inf
hppfaxnd.inf
hppscnd.inf
hpzid4vp.inf
hpzipa23.inf
hpzipr23.inf
hpzius23.inf

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am afraid that's all I have got at the moment.

 

I would suggest contacting the HP phone support for further assistance. 

You can visit http://www.support.hp.com/contact-hp and fill in your product details to get the tech support number.

(1) Once the support page opens please select the country in which you're located. Next, enter your HP model number on the right.

(2) Next, choose the 'Contact Support' tab at the top and scroll down to the bottom of the 'HP Support- Contact' page to fill out the form provided with your contact information.

(3) Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.

(4) Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

i own a all in one unit that HP no longer keeps software oir drivers for

I bought a HP Photosmart 3310 all-in-one to use in my tattoo business......I trusted the guy when he told me how easy it would be to get the software and drivers from HP......turns out they no longer keep the required software nor the drivers I need to use this......does anyone have suggestions for similar software and drivers that will work

I had done this before, which is how I got so many versions on the scanner list.  I decided to do it again, exactly as you stated it.  Now I have 3 versions on this machine.  Please see screen shot. 

 

There has to be a registry setting or file that stoes this value. 

 

I was able to find and edit CN295BVG9405KC.ini which allowed me to at least renumber the valid scanner on the list to be the first one.  C:\ProgramData\HP\HP Officejet Pro 8600\NetworkDevices .  Hopefully we can find the placeholder and clear it.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out.

I understand that you are facing issues with your HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276n wherein the incoming calls get cut off.

 

This issue could occur if the phone cable connections are not correct.

 

Let's go through a few steps to resolve this issue.

 

And here's the step by step guide for you listed below:

  1. Unplug any telephone devices that you have connected to the phone jack.

  2. Connect one end of the phone cord that shipped in the box with the printer to the line port () on the rear of the printer.

    1. Phone jack

    2. Phone cord that shipped with the printer

  3. Connect the other end of the phone cord that shipped with the printer to the phone jack.

  4. Remove the plug from the phone port () on the rear of the printer, and then connect a phone to this port.

If you want the printer to answer fax calls automatically, then follow the steps listed below:

  1. Press the Power button () to turn on the printer.

  2. On the printer control panel, touch Setup ().

  3. Touch Fax Setup, and then touch Basic Setup.

  4. Touch Answer Mode, and then touch Automatic.

  5. Touch the Home icon () to return to the main menu.

I see that you are looking to uninstall the apps on your Windows 10 machine. Here are the steps to do the same:

  1. Open the Start menu.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click System on the Settings menu.
  4. Select Apps & features from the left pane.
  5. Select an app you wish to uninstall.
  6. Click the Uninstall button that appears.
  7. Click the Uninstall pop-up button to confirm.


You can also uninstall the program from the programs and features menu. These are the steps:

  1. In windows search and find the Control panel – Programs and features.
  2. The list of installed programs will appear. Select the program that you need to remove and select uninstall to remove the program.

Hi Kazi, thanks for your reply. I have tried several attemps but did not work. What I remember is changing the color cartridge and I realize that I used hp61 by mistake because I had one from another printer and did not check before placing it. I hope this has not caused the trouble. I went to the page you recommended and tried what they offer but had no luck. This is very bad because here in my country Venezuela a new printer is very very very expensive. I recovered a HP D1660 that I had storaged for a few years and it works. However, I want to recover the one with the problem. Lets keep in touch

Laserjet 1320n sleeping constantly

We're using the universal PCL5 64bit driver for server 2012 R2.  The printer falls asleep constantly, to the point where we have to power it down, power it on just so we can print.  I've gone through the web interface and the only item I see referencing our issue is under setting<Postscript<PS Wait timeout which we've maxed at 4095.  My question is if this was the correct setting to adjust or is there something we need to change?  Is there no fix for the sleep issue?

Ok, I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer for the *4th*(!!!!!) time.  It still doesn't show  up in Devices and Printers in the Control Panel (but the fax version does).

 

I was able to access the printer properties through the HP Printer Assistant / Customize Your Printer.  Gave all permissions to all users.

 

The "Print Test Page" from printer properties fails.  The troubleshooter then fails to find any problems.  Again HP Print and Scan Doctor works just fine, including printing the test page (then again this program runs with elevated privledges as I get the UAC box whenever I try to run it).

 

No change whatsoever in printer behavior.  Still won't print without elevated privlidges from many/most programs.

Hi,

The option to open HP Utility is available for the HP Officejet Pro 8620 as decribed.

 

If you do not see such an option you may added an AirPrint driver instead.

 

First check if you may have an HP folder under Applications, if there is open the HP Utility from there.

 

Otherwise open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.

Select teh 8620 printer and press the minus sign.

Next click the plus sign to add a new printer, select the 8620 from the shown printers list.

Be sure to select the printer model within the Use drop down menu instead of Airprint and press Add, then the HP Utility should be shown as described i my previous post.

Hi,

From System Preferences > Pritners & Scanners click the minus sign to remove any shown wireless print queue.

 

Next plug the USB and it will be installed automatically.

 

Once launching HP Utility the device configuration will be completed. (Applications > HP > HP Utility)

Thanks for that response.

 

I downloaded PSDR from the link you gave.  It says it is version 5.0, which is the same as the one I have been using.

 

It also behaves the same - it says no problems with printing, but when checking scanning it stops at "Windows (WIA) Scan"

 

Regular printing and scanning continues to work OK.

 

Anything else I could check?
