Thanks for the update!

 

Type printui.exe /s (No space between / & s) in the Run window to get the print server properties. Follow the steps mentioned in my above post to remove the drivers.

Also, go to device manager and remove any printer entries from there as well. Check the steps below:

  • Then from the device manager list, check the entries under “Printer”  – If there are any entries, please right click and choose “uninstall” – In the confirm device un-install pop-up, make sure you select the box which says “Delete the driver software for this device".
  • Also, check the entries under "printer queue" and "imaging devices" and repeat the same exercise. Delete any printer entry or any entry which says “Unknown device”.
  • Once done, close device-manger.

Going through you post I am not very clear of the issue. Is your printer connected to the wireless network and still having issues while printing / scanning from your MAC? If so please follow the steps below to re-add the printer to your MAC:
 

  • Click the Apple menu icon, and then click “System Preferences”.
  • Click “Printers and Scanner” / “Print and Scan” or “Print and Fax”.
  • Right-click the blank space in the Printers list, and then click “Reset printing system”.
  • Click “Reset” in the confirmation window.
  • Enter an administrator username and password, and then click “OK”.
  • Wait until the printing system is reset and no devices show in the Printers list
  • Restart your computer and then go back to System preferences – Printers and scanners.
  • Click the “Add button” (+).
  • Find, and then select the name of your printer from the printer list, and then click “Add” to add your printer.
  • Click “Print Using...”, and then select the name of your printer (By default “Airprint” would be selected)

I understand that you are trying to install the printer for your 10.5 MAC. We do not have the downloadable printer software for this version of MAC. I would suggest using the Apple built-in drivers to install your printer.

Can you please be more specific, that is, WHICH built-in driver should  I select ... what am I looking for.   I do not see a driver for the HP Officejet 4650 listed on the Apple menu.

This issue can be fixed by updating your Mac and then resetting the printing system.

Try the steps below:

* Click the Apple menu icon, and then click “System Preferences”.

* Click “Printers and Scanner” / “Print and Scan” or “Print and Fax”.

* Right-click the blank space in the Printers list, and then click “Reset printing system”.

* Click “Reset” in the confirmation window.

* Enter an administrator username and password, and then click “OK”.

* Wait until the printing system is reset and no devices show in the Printers list

* Click the “Add button” (+).

Hello, I've done everything according to your instructions and the result is the same. After installation, everything is fine print and scan. If you turn off and on the printer, or restart your PC, printer remains offline, and the device manager appears in a new DVD / CD - the picture in my previous post. I will be grateful for advice on how to proceed.

  • Connect the USB cable from the printer to your MAC. Make sure the printer is turned on.
  • Click the Apple menu icon, and then click “System Preferences”.
  • Click “Printers and Scanner” / “Print and Scan” or “Print and Fax”.
  • Click the “Add button” (+).
  • Find, and then select the name of your printer from the printer list, and then click “Add” to add your printer.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to add the printer.

How have you connected the PC to the computer? Is it via network?

 

If so try assigning a manual IP to the printer. Follow the steps below:

 

•    Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to get the IP address.
•    Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
•    Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)
•    Click on the radio button which says “Manual IP” and then click “Suggest a manual IP address” to give a manual IP address to your printer.
•    Click on radio button which says “Manual DNS Server” and under manual preferred type 8.8.8.8 and under manual alternate type 8.8.4.4 (This is Google DNS server address)

I do not believe you understand my issue ... please read it again.  I have my printer connected.  I have it added to my System Preferences Print window but there is NO driver for the printer that's on the list of drivers that matches the printer.  I need a driver that will work with this printer until I can get a newer computer that's compatible with the HP Officejet 4650.  I can not install the software CD that came with the 4650 printer yet until I have the newer computer, which I'm not ready to buy.   There must be a driver that will work with the 4650 and  my Mac OSX 10.5.8 - is there?

UPD v4 driver for Server 2012 R2

Hello,

 

I am searching for a v4/type 4/class driver UPD to install on Windows Server 2012 R2.  Manual searching around the web and forums suggests that the HP UPDs are only v3 compatible at this time.  The v4 drivers that are available on Server 2012 are all class drivers and appear to be model specific. 

 

I also do not see v4 drivers for the m525 posted on the HP support site either.  This suggests the v4 drivers for this model must be downloaded from Windows Update instead.  That presents an additional challenge for servers that are normally blocked from direct internet access.

 

Does anyone know if there are plans to expand UPDs to v4 in the future?  Perhaps we are overthinking the deployment of the new v4 drivers.  Any info or clarification on how to manage v4 drivers would be appreciated.

 

Some info that got me to this point:

Solution center is no longer available. 

 

Printer Assistant is available for my computer and printer?

 

I do not plan to change neither,

I am trying to set up new HP ENVY 5540 printer.  I thought I had all of the packing materials off and the trays installed properly, but I keep getting the error of a paper jam or the trays are not installed properly.  Can you help?

Hi Maria,

The HP Solution Center software is available for your printer for Windows 7, the HP Printer Assistant s intended for later HP Products only.

 

If you connect the priinter with a USB, from the Control Panel select Devices and Printers.

Right click the shown P Photosmart Printer and select Remove Device, then unplug the USB.

Be sure not to connect the cable prior the installaton prompt to do so.

 

You may download and insall the HP Full Feature Software below, the software includes the HP Solution Center program:

It tells me there is no printer software for this version.

i have tried everything.

deleted printer, added it,  etc

it is being recognised by the computer but what can I do about the software?
