Can't uninstall software on Officejet Pro 8500A Plus
Googled this problem and found identical problem dealt with on this Forum however, now that I am logged into the Forum, the HP Search facility cannot find that same problem (what ?). The solution given was to download the "HP Officejet Pro Software and Driver Removal Utility" this being a url, but when I click on this url, the HP web site says it cannot be found (what again ?).
I have had this problem for a couple of years having failed to resolve it in talking to HP support. My cable connection to the HP printer is non-functional because of this HP printer software problem but as I can't uninstall the software to re-install it, I was about to throw away the printer. By chance, I discovered that the wireless connection still works, but without any of the bells and whistles provided by the HP printer software. Now even the wireless connection is flakey and I have to "Connect" and "Disconnect" the printer and router in turn as these 2 devices seem to conflict on the wi-fi network. Now almost impossible to get the HP printer to print queued items even when I try this fix.
From my experience, HP is the only company that makes software that cannot be uninstalled or even provide a fix for this situation. I would be unlikely to buy another HP product for this reason.

Where to download HP Deskjet Basic driver?
I am looking to download the print driver only (not full software suite) for the Deskjet D1460 printer. Having gone through the Software & Drivers section of your website, only the full feature software is shown when this model is selected, with a note saying that if you want the print driver only, it is available as a separate download named "HP Deskjet Basic Driver". However there is no indication of where this can be downloaded, no link or anything. I have tried using the search feature of your website, to no avail. Can you help?

print from mac os x 10.10 to windows 8.1 networked printer hp psc 1355
Hi all, looking for a solution and hope you can help.
I have a desktop computer running windows 8.1 (64bit) with USB connected HP PSC 1355 printer which I share successfully with other windows laptop users (win7) in the household.
Attracted by the shiny shiny Apple my son has now introduced a MacBookAir running Os X 10.10 (Yosemite) to the mix.
I see from HP site that the printer should still function with Os X 10.10 so guess my issues are down to 'user error'. 
We have been able to discover and configure the printer on the MBA and send prints to the printer which appear in the print queue, and show as printing. However, nothing ever comes out of the printer. The printer 'wakes / acknowledges' the print by virtue of the print head / carriage intialising and the power on button flashing (forever).
This happens whether we configure the printer by the print/scan configuration or by using CUPS.
Have downloaded the latest drivers to the MBA from Apple Software Update too.
If we connect the MBA directly to the printer via USB it produces prints without issue.
So like I said, this is probably my 'user error', but any help in resolving would be much appreciated. Thanks.

"The device is not connected to the system"
Scanner worked great for several years now but on a different computer that was running Win7 32 bit. Computer died so upgraded to a new computer running Win7 64 bit.
Tried changing data cables, ports and so on with no luck, the computer does not see the scanner.
Suggestions? Ideas?

Hi before I had two apps on my apple mini MAC OS lion, HP Scan and HP photosmart, very useful for scanning,
I bought a new mini with yosemite and of course, after the transfer with timemachine, the two apps refused to operate,,, after 1 hour of stupid googling I discovered your forum and proceeded to get the new stuff HPPrinterDrivers3.0.dmg. I installed it and surprise no more apps HP Scan and HP Photosmart! Where can I get them? Why they disappeared?
It is so frustrating to waste time to cope with these changes between HP and APPLE! So disappointing!

Hi:
For all but the network controller, download and install the Intel chipset driver and reboot.
I don't know what model wireless network card your model uses, so please do the following steps so I can figure that out and then I will post the links to the drivers you need.
Since there is no wireless driver installed, there should be a device labeled Network Controller in the device manager under an Other Devices category. The network controller device will have a little ! mark next to it.
So, find the network controller device, click on that and then click on the Details tab.
Now you see a Property drop down list and it is defaulted to Device Description.
Drop down on that list and select the third item (Hardware ID's).
Post the top string of characters you see in the window.

Print jobs come out half size on A4 paper
I am using an I pad and have just started having troubles printing
The page i want printed comes out approx half size on A4 paper, this only happens when I send a printing job from the i pad to the printer
The printer scan and prints the full A4 page complete
There does not seem to be a print area size tool on the i pad or printer window to re size printing jobs
Can anyone suggest what I may have done??????

Running the Print and Scan Doctor might help. The HP Print and Scan Doctor is a free utility (tool) that helps to quickly resolve common printing, scanning and connectivity issues including but not limited to:
Connectivity:
USB: Verifies that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product is working correctly.
Network: Verifies that the network connection between your computer and your network is working correctly.
Device Status Test: Checks for device errors such as out of paper, paper jams, carriage stalls, and paper feed issues, and then provides instructions for fixing the error.
Driver Check: Checks for missing or corrupt driver files.
Device Manager: Checks for problems in Device Manager that would prevent printing.
Device Online: Checks if the product has been paused or set to offline, and then sets the status back to online if necessary.
Print Queue: Checks for and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a log of print jobs waiting to print).
Port Match: Checks the port settings for the HP product.
Device Conflicts: Checks for conflicts with other drivers, such as other printer brands.
