Re: Photosmart Software Suite
Thanks for your help. I couldn't figure out what was wrong and considering I just got my laptop a few days ago and had some other questions, I called Dell Support and was on the phone with a great guy in India for over 1 1/2 hrs. It turns out that the download wasn't complete, probably my fault. He took control of my laptop and downloaded, checked settings, helped me with a couple other programs and checked a few other things. I have a lot more to learn and want to install a lot of info. and pictures from my old laptop, but he really was great and got me headed in the right direction. My daughter bought her laptop from a retail store and I don't know what service plan she got. I'll show her your notes because she needs to set up the printer for her laptop. You know 18 year olds think they can do it all, but I think she'll need some help on this one. Thanks so much for your help. This is a great forum and I will check back as I learn this new 8.1 system.
HP download page is blank
Hi,
I'm trying to download a driver for my officejet 7610 printer. On the HP.com site, I put in the name and select one of two choices and then on my mac, the page is pure white and on my PC the page has some titles along the top like "support" and the bottom half is blank. What am I doing wrong ?
There are many sites on google that offer downloads but you have to subscibe to their software program which you don't know what in the world you are getting yourself into. I wanted to go straight to the company HP.

on the HP website, after you enter the product name, it goes to a page with the blue banner "HP for home for work support" and there is nothing underneath it to download. BLANK
ALSO, does it take 24 hours for my post to be posted..... I don't see where my previous post is. It's not in the list..... ????

Re: MY PRINTER NOT OPERATING
Hi
I see you are experiencing printer errors. I would like to help!
I would recommend removing the ink cartridges, and perform a power reset on the printer. Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I'd also recommend following the steps laid out in this doucment:
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
How can I password protect my HP Office Jet Pro 8600 printer?
How can I sent up a password for my HP Office Jet Pro 8600 printer? Someone in the office keeps printing stuff from her IPhone and although I've told her to stop, she still sneaks and does it when no one is around. I'd like to set up a password so she can't access my printer anymore. I don't even know how she got access to my printer in the first place.
Re: Photosmart 6520 refusing to print photos
While it didn't follow exactly the same steps, it did do an update, but I'm afraid the result is still the same.
The last few tests, it consistently takes 10-20 seconds to push a 4x6 photo sheet through the printer, then errors out and tells me that I'm out of paper; when I hit "OK", it spits out the paper that supposedly wasn't there. After that, it takes 30-40 seconds making all the noises I'm accustomed to when it prints, but still puts out a blank sheet, except for the streaks on the back of the photo (the scan is a bit lighter than the real thing).
Normally when it used to print photos, I would see them slowly emerge as they printed. Now it makes all its noises, but no sheet appears until it's ready to spit it out all at once.
Ocasionally it does print, but does so with much less than a full image printed about one inch on the six-inch sheet.
Re: Photosmart 6520 refusing to print photos
Hey
At this point I am going to send you a Private Message with the instructions on how to perform a Semi-Full Programming Reset on your printer. Ideally, if this is a programming issue rather than a photo tray hardware issue the reset will correct this problem.
Please refer to your Private Messages for further instruction.
Once the reset is complete, please post the result of the reset in this thread and not in the Private Message.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Re: HP Deskjet 1000 Printer - J110a cannot print in color using WIndows 8
Hey
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that since installing your HP Deskjet 1000 Printer on your Windows 8 computer you have not been able to print in colour. Because you are able to print fine from a Windows 7 computer we know that this issue is not being caused by your printer. I would like to assist you today with resolving this issue. I'm thinking that your machine is either experiencing a driver conflict or a setting issue within the Windows 8 computer. Please follow the steps below.
Step 1: Check Settings:
- Open your Start screen by selecting the Windows button on the bottom left hand corner of your computer screen or by selecting the Windows key on the bottom left of your keyboard, to the right of the Ctrl button
- Once the Start screen opens type Devices and Printers
- Click on Devices and Printers
- In the Devices and Printers folder right click on your HP Deskjet
- Select Printing Preferences
- In the Preferences window select the Advanced button on the bottom right
- Look for the Greyscale or Print Black Only and make sure they are disabled
If all settings are correct, yet the issue persists, please proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Try Alternate Driver:
To confirm if this issue is specific to the Deskjet 1000 driver I am going to have you load an alternate driver on your machine.
- Open your Start screen by selecting the Windows button on the bottom left hand corner of your computer screen or by selecting the Windows key on the bottom left of your keyboard, to the right of the Ctrl button
- Once the Start screen opens type Devices and Printers
- In the Devices and Printers folder right click on your Deskjet 1000 and left click on Printer Properties
- Left click on the Advanced tab
- Left click on New Driver
- When the New Driver window opens just hit 'next' until you see a list of Manufacturers on the left and a list of Printers on the right.
- Select HP as the Manufacturer on the left
- Select Deskjet 9800 as the printer on the right. If Deskjet 9800 doesn't appear than select 'Windows Update' on the bottom left and once the update completes you will be able to select Deskjet 9800.
- After selecting Deskjet 9800 hit next to complete the New Driver Wizard
- Under the Printer Properties window select 'Apply' but don't hit OK
- Select the General tab
- Rename your printer back to HP Deskjet 1000
- Hit OK
- Lastly, right click on your Deskjet 1000 one more time and left click on Printing Preferences
- Left click on the Paper/Quality tab
- Left click on the 'Normal' dropdown for Print Quality on the bottom right and change this to Fast Normal
- Click Apply and OK
Now that the new driver is added in, please test printing in colour again.
Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. Good luck!

Re: how i install my HP Photosmart C6300 to my computer i don't have the CD to install
You I was unableae provided me with the requested information; however, when I tried to access it to download the information i was unable to do so which was very frustrating. What woul you suggest?
Scan to Computer & HP Printer Assistant
I have a new OfficeJet Pro 8625 and have been struggling with the setup of the scanning feature. I ran the Print and Scan Doctor software, which indicated it fixed a few issues, and now I can finally scan from my computer. However, I am still having difficulty with scanning to the computer from the printer. When I attempt to scan to the computer, there is a message on the printer screen indicating that this feature needs to be enabled in Printer Assistant. However, when I open Printer Assistant and click on Manage Scan to Computer, nothing happens -- the software simply does not respond. Other selections in Printer Assistant seem to work fine - just not this one.
Re: HP C4485 with Lenovo C40 running Win8.1 64 bit
If it offer any real time protection feature I suggest turing it off, it is not common to cuase such issues however.
