I followed all instructions. Really hope this would fix it, gonna print some documents soon to see if it fixed it. What to do if this doesn't fix it?
Re: Printer queue keeps getting stuck after printer 1/2 documents
Re: non hp cartridges not recognized
Your suggestions did not help at all. As you can tell from the make and model, this is a very old printer, long past warranty. I believe the problem is caused by HP upgrading their firmware and only allowing printers to acknowledge only HP brand cartridges. I would be most appreciative if you would send me an earlier version of print drivers or firmware. I do not want to garbage a perfectly good printer. I hate to create more landfill for no reason and I hope HP corporation is as environmentally concious.
Re: Keep getting "filter failed" when trying to print out
I have tried everything in this thread and still cannot get my printer to work.
Running Mac OS Mojave 10.14.5
HP CP1025nw color laserjet
Started out that no matter how many times I pressed the Wireless button, or for how long, it would not turn on. Un-installed, re-installed, rebooted printer and macbook MANY times. Nothing.
Finally got it on and working with my husbands Windows 10 PC (Hm, guess I'm stuck always having a PC in the house)
Now getting filter failed message.
Tried USB printing, error.
Forget wireless, the Mac can't find the printer. (Funny though, it picks up my neighbours, that's NOT an HP)
I've had nothing but issues with this printer since it was new. Constantly dropping the Wireless. Never staying connect. Constantly disappering from PC/Mac/Samsung phone&tablet/iPhone,iPad. Unfortunatly, I have already purchased $500 in new toners for it, so I REALLY don't want to buy a new one, since the toners will be useless in anything else BUT a CP1025.
So, alas, I ask, without being told to "re-install", what exacly is the fix for this? Or is HP ever going to bother?
Re: Hp imagine device not found ( error message)
Uninstalling the pre-installed drivers and Installing Updated HP Drivers may help. Let us try these steps:
Step 1: Clean uninstallation of Pre-installed HP drivers
- In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
- Select your HP Printer
- Select Uninstall
- In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
- In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
- Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
- Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
- Click on the “Drivers” tab
- Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
- Select Ok
- Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
- Close Devices and Printers, restart the computer.
Step 2: Click here to download the HP Full-featured driver.
Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.
Try to Print and Scan.
Keep me posted.

Re: HP Deskjet 2135 cartridge problem (Tricolor 680)
Welcome to HP support community.
Clean the electrical contacts
Gather the following materials:
Clean, dry foam-rubber swabs or a clean, lint-free cloth
Distilled or bottled water (tap water might damage the ink cartridge or the printer)
Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
Lower the output tray, reach inside the printer, and then grasp the handle and lower the ink cartridge access door to open it.
The carriage moves to the center of the printer.
Figure : Open the ink cartridge access door
Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
Disconnect the USB cable.
Press down on the ink cartridge to release it, and then pull the ink cartridge out to remove it from its slot.
CAUTION:
Do not remove both ink cartridges at the same time. Remove and then clean each ink cartridge one at a time. Do not leave an ink cartridge outside the printer for more than 30 minutes.
Figure : Remove the ink cartridge
Hold the ink cartridge by its sides.

Re: installing software for deskjet 2620
Thank you Greenturtle.I managed to find a moment when I had a webpage with a download button and a stable internet conection more than dialup speed.
FTP Site diabolically slow
For most of this year I have had no success downloading stuff from FTP.hp.com.
I have just set up windows 10 on a test machine, a Prodesk 400, and am downloading the HP support assistant. It has taken more than 90 minutes to get to 54% and suggests another 32 minutes remaining.
Several days ago I ran support on my G600 which suggested 4 updates totalling about 650Mb. This download failed repeatedly - eventually I got them downloaded one by one, the 300Mb file took 48 hours to download.
It doesn't make any difference if I use A Telstra web connection at work, or my NBN connection at home (100/50).
All other sites are not affected. I can download the Win 10 ISO in a few minutes.

Re: error code 0x61000016
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Power resetting the printer, checking for any jammed papers may resolve this issue. Let us try these steps:
Step 1: Reset the printer
1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.
Perform the troubleshooting steps mentioned in this document. If the error still persists, resetting the printer to its factory settings may help.
- The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
- I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
- In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage
Note: The reset can be performed only if you are able to bypass the error on the printer screen. It will not work if the printer screen is stuck at the error.
Let me know how this goes.

ENVY 7640 - E-Mailadresse
Hallo,

Firmware Update Failure 477
Hello,
I have updated 3 out of 4 printers on our network.
The last one is stuck with this message "A problem has occured with one of the printer's critical system files. A printer update will be installed to fix this problem"
I can't do anything on the screen or trying to reflash the firmware.
Is there any solution available please ?
Thanks
Regards

Re: Firmware Update Failure 477
I've searched a bit and finally i managed to make it work...
I've used an USB stick formatted with FAT32 and I've pasted 2 files on it (no idea which was the right one !)
HP_LaserJet_MPF_M477_M377_Series_FW_20190113.rfu
maverickdw_dist_pp1_001.1908C_nonassert_appsigned_lbi_rootfs_secure_signed.ful2
Once inserted, an upload message appeared automatically and it has updated the firmware
The printer is fully working right now :D

Re: How do I unlock the printing options on my 6978.
Can you clairfy what is locked. Is it a software app that runs on the computer or is it setting directly on the printer. In some cases with printers to unlock features you need to assign an administrative password.
Re: HP ENVY Photo 7858 and it gets stuck on the 4th bullet on hard reboot
I have the same problem. How about a public solution instead?
Re: Installation Status: Not Installed
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
- How far are the Mac and the router?
- Make sure the Mac and the printer are connected to the same wireless network. This printer supports only 2.4GHz network.
The wireless status menu on your Mac should also give us quite a lot of information that would help us identify the issue. You can press and hold the option key on your keyboard and click the WiFi icon to get detailed information.
Updating the printer firmware and performing a PING test may help. Let us try these steps:
Step 1: Update the printer firmware
Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your computer.
Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.
Step 2: Perform a ping test
- Obtain the IP address of the printer by clicking on the Wireless icon
on the printer
- On the MAC Go to Spotlight > search for Network utility > select Ping tab > enter the IP address of the printer in the box
- Check the second box that says Send only > 10 pings
- Click on ping > Check the results at the end if any packets are lost
Note: There should be 0% packet loss
If the PING test is passed, proceed to the next step.
Step 3: Add the printer on MAC using AirPrint drivers
1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.
4.) Click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
6.) Try to print.
Let me know how this goes.

Re: Remove installed software
Like I allready stated, uninstalling doesn't work, what is why I created this post.
Fortunately I have found a solution myself.
I found some shady site that hosted the old version of this driver. (I don't recomend doing this for anybody else, since you don't know if it's infected by a virus)
I started the installation and went to my TEMP folder. In there, I found the unpacked updater.
I canceled the installation and started the uninstall.
On the question for the source of the files I pointed to the location in my temp folder and the uninstall was able to complete.
