To Betty0610: I want to thank you for your help so far. I'm 72 yrs old and I'm 10 yrs. retired from the IT world. But I'd be the first to say that I'm not as sharp as I used to be.  I'm trying to not return the printer cause I like it but it makes no sense to pay for a printer that I cannot use. I followed your last instructions but when I clicked on the printer name, and the assistant opened. But there was no Scanner Actions and no  Manage Scan to Computer.  The only option is 

Scan a Document or Photo on the left---nothing else. No where to activate scan to computer. Other HP techs have said the difficulty is Win Vista. I bought win10 (ISO) and downloaded it but haven't been able to successfully install it. I have a new flash drive (32g).  I don't know what to do. Appreciate any suggestions.

Hi,

Try following 'Connect a printer that does not have a touchscreen control panel > Step 2: Connect the printer with the HP Smart app' below:

That ensures the printer is properly configured for your new network with no configuration settings remain from your old network.

 

If you experience further issues, print a Wireless Test by pressing and holding both the WiFi and Information buttons till it prints, please share a picture of the printed report via a private message.

HP provides a free tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems.

Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor to quickly and automatically perform several troubleshooting tasks. When this link is clicked, HP Print and Scan Doctor is downloaded using your Internet browser's download capabilities.

If the issue persists, I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and retry, follow the steps below: 

  

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features: 

2.) Select your HP Printer 

3.) Select Uninstall 

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers 

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device' 

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo. 

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s") 

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab 

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom 

10.) Select Ok 

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows 

12.) Close Devices and Printers

hi Jagmom,  When you open the HP Smart app, there's a " - " icon that helps you remove your current printer from the app.

software and drivers won't install

Hello,

I went to support then, software & drivers to get my printer's software and I was able to find it and download it.

It was extracting and asked me to agree to the policy etc then, hit the "next" button, but once I do that, it will remove it and exit out itself, pretty much just disappearing and won't let me move forward.

I was able to get this software on my other desktop but I am having this issue on only my laptop. I did everything I could have done. 

I also downloaded and tried the 'HP print and scan' doctor by connecting this printer with USB so I was able to set this printer as default printer and did let me print while USB is connected, however, it won't let me finish installing "PS_AIO_06_B209a-m_140_408-5.exe" so I can't use this wireless or the other service like scan etc.

If I bought an Hp 63xl cartridge, should the estimated ink level show a line all the way across the space between the brackets on the printer status report?

Firmware files for HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 (.rfu)

Hello,

I would like to change the firmware on my A3 printer HP OfficeJet Pro 7740, but I couldn't find repository of firmware files for my printer.
I have looked at ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/networking/software/pfirmware but by the name I couldn't find the right one. There are ones for 8710, yet none for 7740. Is there some other location where I could find .rfu firmware files for my printer?

The printer wil not output a print from the notebook. The notebook works correctly. The printer is on and ready.

HP5230 prints @PJL SET JOB NAME="" and some dashes instead of printing the document

Hello,
while printing on a ERP program the views print @PJL SET JOB NAME="[name of the view]" and some dashes and not what was suposed to print, but when its printing pdfs prints fine, the previous printer worked just fine...
I already uninstaled and removed drivers and instaled them again.
And didnt Work... any soluttions?
