Let's try to restore the printer to the network default settings: 

 

To restore the printer to the original network settings: 

1. From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the
Dashboard, and then touch ( Setup ).
2. Touch Network Setup.
3. Touch Restore Network Settings.
A message appears stating that the network defaults will be restored.
4. Touch Yes.
5. Print the network configuration page and verify that the network settings have been reset.

 

If the issue persists, then the next step would be to perform an advanced reset on the printer.

Reinstalling because of driver. 

 

When typing  step (5) in Windows, search for and open C:Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS. It would only show web result
So I went to File Explorer, OS (C:)

Program files. It has 2 folders labeled:


HP folder
created January 02,2017
has 2 files in folder
size: 11.1 MB (11,732.888 bytes)

Program Files (x86) has two folders:

Hewlwtt-Packard folder
created January 02, 2017
1.88 MB (1.974.136 bytes
1 files, 3 folders
Read only (Only applies to files in folder)

HP
created Januray 02, 2017
has 1 file, 3 folders
1.88 MB (1,974.136 bytes
2 files, 3 folders
Read only (Only applies to files in folder)

 

Which if any do I delte so that I may reinstall the printer?

Windows10 printing problem

I have this Envy 5640 since 2 years w/o any problem. It is printing in my wifi system from a PC Windows7 computer, 2 iPads and 2 iPhones. However I have one-year old Dell Windows 10 PC (64) and it will not print anything from that PC unless connected with a cable. I have reinstalled many times now without joy. The HP print and scan doctor runs ok in wifi with all green symbols. But when asking tobprint a test page nothing happens. Nothing! I even have to come out of the program with ctrl-alt-del to stop it running. And when checking the scanner option, it comes out with ”driver failure”.

HP 8600 - Need driver for Windows 2016R2 - Does it exist?

I am working with a VPS with Windows 2016R2.  The official driver list on HP website only goes to 2008.  Can anyone help me?  Or at least recommend a printer that will connect?

I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and Install the drivers, follow the steps below:

 

Remove the USB if connected

 

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features 

2.) Select your HP Printer 

3.) Select Uninstall 

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers 

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device' 

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo. 

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s") 

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab 

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom 

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

"Problem with printer" -Contact HP

Has worked fine for several years. Suddenly nothing prints and I get generic message "there is a problem with the printer. Turn it off, then on. If problem persists, contact HP." Done that with no result. Also unplugged cord and replugged.  But for the life of me, I can find no phone number to contact HP - it's nice there's a community forum like this but is this just us all helping each other with no actual support from HP itself?  this is such a generic message that I have no clue.  No updates done, nothing changed, same router, just suddenly stopped working.  No other functions work either, i.e. copying, printing a sample page etc

Student, thank you for your solution. 

I found another solution that works as well later on. I had tried to google the method for the 8710 printer and found several HP support articles that actually had invalid information. Here's an example:

Out of frustration I did more searching and eventually found this page:

https://support.hp.com/rs-en/document/c04945267 on how to load envelopes and cards. The instructions for loading envelopes seemed to be more complete and they worked with the Word Mailings-Envelope application.

 

Many of the support articles out there seem to be confused about how to place envelopes in the printer, i.e. position, orientation, etc. Even the Word printer driver for the 8710 has this wrong.

Thanks Senan6806 for your answer, but you haven't solved the problem. In fact when i select "Preview" there is not available the option "Paper Type/Quality" but only "Layout", "Paper handling", "Paper feed", "Cover page" and "Printer features".

Does anyone know how to install HP Smart in English (  I am located in Granada, Spain ) ?   

 

Since my PC Server is located in Spain then it makes sense that the HP Smart download will default to Spanish ;  it is not so critical as I can understand the Spanish well enough to understand all the settings.

I've confirmed that the 301 ink should work fine, and are you referring to the installation of the printer on a computer? If yes, is it Windows or Mac?

I have the same problem with my printer. It has worked great up until today. If there is a fix, I would love to hear it. Otherwise I will be shopping for another brand printer. It would be nice if the fix were posted instead of just being sent privately - is there really a fix short of a new board?
