I need to scan large reports (50-80 pages) using the document feeder, but can't get more than 300 dpi. I need 1200 if I can get it. How do I increase the resolution when I use the document feeder?
I need 1200 dpi resolution on the document feeder on a M521
Re: My HP ENVY 4500 printer driver is not available (message in Control Panel Devices and Printers)
I followed the steps that you recommended twice without being able to resolve the issue. Both times the printer would print a test page and request that it be put on the glass for scanning (alignment procedure). Both times the printer screen message indicated to place paper in the feeder tray, place test page on the glass, then press the "OK" button. Both times the scanner bar would move a few millimeters and then stop / hang with no futher progress. [Requiring power off, unplug everything, etc]
I tried the steps you suggested a third time and did not place paper in the feeder tray as suggested on the printer display screen. I did not want it to print yet another test page (was my thinking / intent). Well, since it didn't find paper in the feeder tray it skipped the test page and alignment procedure and the printer display screen changed to the normal baseline Copy / Scan / Wireless Direct / ... etc screen. I was then able to copy and also "scan to computer" and "scan from computer". Success, I guess!
I downloaded / installed NAPS2 as suggested. I was able to scan to NAPS2 from the printer and also request a scan from NAPS2. Both succussful.
I was also able successfully to scan using the HP Smart, HP Printer Home Page (Web).
I was not able to scan using Microsoft Windows 10 scanner software (app). It start scanning but stopped after 2 or 3 seconds and a message box popped up "Problem scanning" "Something went wrong. Please try again." I tried several times, but no luck. The fact that this software is not useable is not a big deal to me. Just letting you know in case it is not a known problem.
Thanks,

Re: My HP ENVY 4500 printer driver is not available (message in Control Panel Devices and Printers)
I gave ShlomiL the Accepted Solution, but I used several of your suggestions as well. I followed the "Create TCP IP port" instructions. I also installed the NAPS2 software which seems to work very well (thanks).
Oh, one thing I forgot to mention is that I ran Print and Scan Doctor 5.1 and the "Fix Printing" completed fully without stopping or error messages. However, when selecting "Fix Scanning" it would hang at the "Windows (WIA) scan" point in the procedure and not complete successfully.
I tried Print and Scan Doctor 5.1 "Fix Scanning" several times (just for verification that all is proper) with no success (hangs at the "Windows (WIA) scan" point) even though the printer and scanner seems to mostly (a couple of times when requesting a scan it took a second try) work correctly now.
Re: My HP ENVY 4500 printer driver is not available (message in Control Panel Devices and Printers)
Good to know you are now able to use the printer!
If you may experience any scanning issues in the future, following steps 7 & 8 below should clear such a WIA error:

Guide/explanation to the Test Page
it seems Deskjet 1515 doesn't support eprint. I printed as Test Page to check if at least my printer has online print function. I don't see anything that looked like IP Adress here
Back to the title. Is there any guide of what all these numbers in the Test Page mean? Also judging from the Test Page, is there any chance 1515 capable of wireless printing?
Re: Cartridge Authentication - Cannot connect to Internet
HP SUCKS!!! I am having the same problem with my Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M277dw on my "HP" Windows 7 Laptop. I just spent almost $400 in toner cartridges from HP, WHICH WAS MORE THAN I PAID FOR THE PRINTER ITSELF. What the hell does it matter if it is "authentic?!?" YOU WOULD THINK THAT THEY WOULD BE WILLING TO SPEND AT LEAST ONE DOLLAR ON FIXING THIER STUPID PROGRAM!!! HP is nothing but a rip off. I threw away my last two HP printers even though they were in PRISTINE working order. The first was because they would not produce a driver for Windows Vista. Then the next (which was a $350 Inkjet) because I had to spend over $100 in ink just to print 50 pages, or 20 photos, whichever came first. I couldn't sell either of them to a printer repair shop EVEN for parts. They would NOT even take them for FREE! How much f'n money do you need HP? QUIT RIPPING US OFF!!!
hp8620 will not install on computer
I wanted to use printer and would not print.I reinstalled software from disc but would only install fax and said that printer could not be installed on computer
Unable to print
Hi Guys,
Problem I seem to be having is that all of a sudden I am unable to print to my printer. Different applications are displaying the "Unexpected Configuration Error" and if I try to print a test page the troubleshooter appears and states that the print failed, but has no suggestions to fix it. My printer is connected via Wifi only and is served a DHCP address. I have tried the following: Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor - unable to print and no fix, Run the Windows Printer troubleshooter - unable to find issue, The HP Envy program is able to communicate with the printer and I am able to scan successfully and see the printer status, The printer properties within windows state the printer is online and fine......however to get around this issue I noted that the location of the printer within Windows was stated as an IPv6 address.... odd considering everything else is indicating an IPv4 address - what I did was create a new TCP printer port directly to the printer, which as resolved the issue...until the DHCP lease expires and the printer gets a new IP. Can anyone shed any light on what is going on here and how to resolve this? I would much prefer to use the proprietry HP printer port so when the IP changes so does the port dynamically.
Thanks in advance.
Re: Guide/explanation to the Test Page
Hi,
I do not know what all the part of the printout mean. However, your printer does not support wifi or ethernet. Maybe your router has a USB port and can be enabled to use a printer in that port which in turn would allow wireless printing. However, the printer will need to be connected by USB.
Hope it helps,
David
Re: HP Envy 5545 stopped printing in color when using the wireless connection
Re: Guide/explanation to the Test Page
Okay then. I will settle for this, accepting my printer model.

Re: Getting software not installed message after reinstalling EasySmart of 8730 on Mac
Thanks. It has been working fine the last few days. Please consider this issue resolved. It was helpful to have someone to bounce ideas off when going through the troubleshooting. Hopefully my computer downloading the wrong soffware was an isolated case. :)
Re: OfficeJet 250 keeps dropping WiFi connection
A warm welcome to HP Forums! This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.
I understand you need support and I'll be glad to help you out. However, for an accurate solution, I would need more details:
What's the make and model of your WiFi router?
Do you have any antivirus software installed on your Mac?
Do you have a guest network enabled on your WiFi router?
Approximately how far is the printer located from the WiFi router?
Could you check for WiFi interference and also perform a ping test using the Mac Network Utility and let me know the results. Use the printer IP address to perform a ping test, the printer IP can be located by touching the wireless icon on the printer display.
Re: Many HP drivers incompatible ith Windows 10 1809
Hello
It didn't help. It is about WIndows 10 1809. It works without problems on every Windows 10 machine before this build.
