MAC OS High Sierra with HP Photosmart 7520!
Printer Squeals When Display is On
My rarely used printer of just over a year is squealing when the display is on. Super annoying. Is there any way to fix this? I tried powering it off and turning it back on, but it persists and is driving me nuts!
Re: Cannot re-establish wireless connection to my 7640 printer
I have no unlit 'backarrow' on my printer. The only unlit button is the NFC (near field communcation) My printer's product # is E4W43A, model 7640, service id 27002.
Re: My hp 5530 e printer
Are you able to make a copy? Also, if you try to print anything from the Computer, does it print?
Thanks!

Re: Envy 4520 not printing color
Thanks for the reply!
Additional info
- I'm connecting wireless (pretty sure I lost the usb)
- Nothing has changed recently. Had this printer for maybe a year, it has always been like this. I kinda just dealt with it, until recently.
- I'm on Windows 10 Home, 1809, 64bit, admin user.
- Windows Defender A/V, but it doesn't show that it prevented anything.
Would the USB be required for it to install properly? It gets detected just fine via wireless
I have tried all of those steps previously, but did them again on a new user account. The only thing I can think of left is to try a hard reset (unplug the printer, ink, etc). But it doesn't seem to be a printer issue, just an HP driver not behaving with win10.
Still no Color options anywhere
Scan to email not working
Error message after I touch the photo or document icon during scan to email. Scan to email is in the app icon.
Connection error The printer was unable to connect to the server. Check your internet connection and try again. I'm connected to the internet and this problem has been happening for over a week now.
Thank you, Nicholas
Re: Envy 4520 not printing color
After reviewing your post thoroughly, this looks like an issue with the print driver settings on your PC. Try the steps below to try and fix the same:
- Go to Control Panel – Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on Envy 4520 and select “Printing Preferences”.
- Navigate to print quality / layout tab and make sure that the color printing option is selected.
- Save the settings and check for issue resolution.
Let me know how it goes for further assistance.
Take care now and do have a fabulous week ahead. :)

Scanner Driver HP laserjet M1522n
Hi. I want to download scanner driver for my HP laserjet M1522n for windows 10 x64. can you help me?
Re: My hp 5530 e printer
Hi,
I can do a test print ,no scan .
Re: LaserJet will not install on Windows 10
A few months on, I realise that although the XP driver works, everything it prints is shrunk by about 5%. This is not a problem for day to day printing but is a problem when printing labels and forms.
So still looking for a driver ....
Re: My HP ENVY 4500 printer driver is not available (message in Control Panel Devices and Printers)
I tried once again to update the printer drivers but received the same message "Windows encountered a problem installing the drivers for your device." "Windows found drivers for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install them."
"HP ENVY 4500 series" "The print processor is unknown."
"If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit their website and check the support section for drivers."
Re: Scan to email not working
What you do depends on what has failed...
NOTE: The following is based on my experience and may -- or may not -- be true in your current situation.
Some background information:
The basic methodology used with "Scan-to-Email" is model dependent.
Printers without digital filing, that is, those printers without the ability to connect directly to the smtp server, use the Scan-to-Email App. On some printers the Scan to Email App is available on the printer's front panel in "Apps".
The Scan-to-Email App uses Web Services as a means to communicate between the printer and the Cloud servers where the email is processed. For this reason, Web Services must be running on the printer: HP Printers - Turning On Web Services
Web Services provides the connection between the printer and the HP Connected / Cloud servers that are used to register and process the scan email. For this reason, the HP Cloud Servers must be running and providing service.
During Scan-to-Email registration (setup), an HP cloud server sends (back to the owner) a confirmation email that includes a PIN number. The PIN is used to verify the owner's email address information. The PIN is used to prove "I am me".
If there is a break in the service (Web Services communication between home network and the Cloud server(s)), the PIN cannot be sent and / or scan emails dependent on the Cloud servers cannot be processed.
So...
If you are using Scan-to-Email ON the computer...
If your printer does support smtp, it might only be necessary that you start your email program (Outlook) on the computer to get this to work. If the installed email program is running AND if the problem was simply the smtp process sticking, running the installed email program at the same time you are using scan to email might fix the problem.
and / or
If your printer does not support smtp, your scan to email is dependent on web services and a connection to Cloud services as a means to transfer the scan to the email app, then to the cloud server, and (finally) to the destination.
The "server connection" or the web services connection is down / disconnected.
- If it is the Cloud Services / Server, it will eventually fix itself. (No time frame - we don't have any way to determine this).
- If the problem is Web Services on your printer, you can fix it -- there are consequences (even assuming the "fix" works).
The "hitch" -- if you disconnect Web Services to try and fix the problem, stopping Web Services kills your HP Connected connection and your printer email address is lost. Rats.
Assuming the best, waiting a few minutes and then starting Web Services will reconnect the setup.
Unfortunately, your email address is lost - you need to print a new claim code (created when Web Services is (re)started), log into your HP Connected account, enter the claim code to "add your printer".
You can then customize the address -- but you need to slightly change the custom name from what it was (before the whole thing fell apart) to something "slightly" different. For example, add a "2" to the end of your customized email address to change it "just enough".
Want to avoid the whole thing for now?
Scan to your computer, save the file on the computer.
Open your email, Attach the file / image, mail to whomever.

Re: My HP ENVY 4500 printer driver is not available (message in Control Panel Devices and Printers)
If you did not do so before,
After the printer software is uninstalled,
Restart the computer and log in.
Download, save, and install the Full Feature Software
After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in.
If the problem persists, consider:
Restart everything, including the router on your network.

Re: P1109W Full solution software stopped working
Welcome to the HP Forums :) I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.
Let's try to do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:
Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
15.) Restart the computer.
Once done, please download and install the software from here:

HP Envy 5545 stopped printing in color when using the wireless connection
HP Envy 5545 stopped printing in color when using the wireless connection. It has only been in use for 2 weeks, and it just stopped showing the color option in the printing setup when using the wireless network. It is still there when I plug in the usb cable. The drivers and software have been removed and reinstalled 3 times and no change. I noticed the printer was auto-updating a few days ago, could that have changed a stting?
I have been reading post going back over a year, so I know this is a common issue. I would hope by now someone would have figured out the problem and patched the software.
Re: Cannot re-establish wireless connection to my 7640 printer
Are you sure this isn't a Windows related problem ? Using the HP Doctor I can click on network and see my network devices. It displays HP1ECB23 (thats the 7640) as active, wi-fi conection (all bars up) the network ssid is displayed, it's password is displayed. I can click on printer and click on align and it prints out a alignment page. Obviously my latop can access it, and HP Doctor can access it. It cannot find the printer during the 'network driver setup' step. That's where it's failing. Is there some piece of code that is missing ?
