installation of PSC1315 driver fails

$

I tried several times to install PSC1315 drivers from HP support webpage to my PC with Windows 7 (64 bit).

Each time installation was unsuccessful - at the end of installation there was a message "error during installation" and I got the information that driver is not found.

How to proceed to successfully install the driver?

Thanks to all who helped in this solution. It ended up being a Windows Op System issue but I'm still not sure how it was resolved. I utilized the Windows Troubleshooter for Windows Update and now my printer functions as it was intended. That being connected thru a USB connection.  There are still exclamation marks on the Base System Device entries in Device Manager so I still don't know what they are.

Thanks again!!

doublex printing issues

Hello there,

I just got a brand new M12a and I am trying to print double-sided.  Following the instructions, I downloaded and installed the HP software.

When I try to print, I get the option for 2-sided printing. (Figure 1). I select the option and hit print, so far everything is good, the printer prints the even pages of the document. After that, the printer gives an error message (Figure 2), and the orangeFigure 1.jpgFigure 2.jpg light is flashing next to the triangle sign on top of the printer. For some reason, once I put the even printed pages back on the tray, the printer does not resume printing, and the orange light keeps flashing.

I have no idea how to go around that. In the past, I have used similar settings with different printers that had an additional button that was pressed once the printed pages were back in the tray, and this way the printing was resumed.

Can you please help?

Color LaserJet CP5225dn firmware

I would like to verify if there is a newer firmware available for an HP Color LaserJet CP5225dn than datecode 20140619.  I have already been to the software & drivers page for this device (https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-color-laserjet-professional-cp5225-printer-series/3974355) and no firmware updates of any kind were listed but the manual (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01624544) suggests that this device can be upgraded.

Reason I want to upgrade the firmware is to hopefully take advantage of SNMPv3 and hopeing a newer firmware would make this available.

Thank you

Rats.

The following is not specific to your situation; the procedure may help if the underlying cause of the problem is related to the print service infrastructure having been damaged by Windows Updates.

If you have already tried to reinstall the printer software and the program just won't install

OR

If it appears the software does install and then does not work as expected,

Try / Consider a procedure to clear the print setup and then reinstall the software.

Essentially the same fix as for the “not compatible with a policy” error, this repair method can help in those cases where Windows Updates might have corrupted driver components in the Operating System.

Hi,

Once reloading the paper into the tray, open and close the cartridge access door to resume printing and the other side will be printed.

As a reference see page 46 of its user guide:

Inspect the printer, determine the error, and then correct the error.
If the error is the absence of paper in the proper tray or the printer is in a manual feed mode,
put the proper paper in the tray and follow the onscreen instructions,
or open and close the print-cartridge door to resume printing

hi thanks! is there an extended scan for macs. This doesn't seem to work on macs and I need to scan double sided documents but there doesn't seem to be a way to do this from the HP Easy Scan software that I have already downloaded. Using the Macs scanning software results in very low resolution docs not sure why.

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are unable to copy from the auto feeder and the printer is not printing the body of the email.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

  • When was the last time the printer was working fine?
  • Did you align the printer after replacing the cartridges?
  • Are you able to print other documents correctly?
  • Is the paper picked up when you copy from the document feeder?
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

Meanwhile, I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.

   NOTE:

The location of the ADF rollers might be different depending on your printer, but the following steps still apply.

  1. Gather the following materials:

    • A clean, lint-free cloth, or any cloth that does not come apart or leave fibers

    • Distilled, filtered, or bottled water (tap water might damage the printer)

  2. Remove the original document from the ADF.

  3. Turn off the printer.

  4. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

  5. Open the ADF cover.

  6. Find the paper pick rollers and the separator pad inside the ADF.

Figure : Example of the paper pick rollers and separator pad in a LaserJet printer

The paper pick rollers and separator pad

Figure : Example of the paper pick rollers and separator pad in a OfficeJet printer

  7. Lightly dampen a clean, lint-free cloth with filtered or distilled water, then squeeze any excess liquid from the cloth.

  8. Use the damp cloth to wipe any residue off the paper pick rollers and the separator pad.

  9. Leave the ADF cover open for two minutes to allow the paper pick rollers and separator pad to dry.

  10. Close the ADF cover.

  11. Reload the original document print side up in the document feeder tray. Gently slide the document into the printer as far as it can go.

  12. Slide in the paper width guides until they are snug against the paper.

Do not push the paper width guides in so far that they bend the paper.

  13. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

  14. Turn on the printer, then try to scan.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution.Your feedback counts!

Cheers!

Smiley Happy As @Jeet_singh is out for the day, I am responding on his behalf.

The printer's hardware is faulty and needs to be replaced by contacting HP phone support. I am being honest about it by keeping your best interest in mind.

HP 8600 pro won't accept new black ink cartridges

Re: Envy 4516 - need software/driver for OS 10.6.8

What country are you in?  The new cartridge may have a marking like -Z10.  What is the marking?  Check the markings on the cartridge you removed as well as the other cartridges in the printer - are they the same Z number?

On the front panel of the printer go to the home screen and press the ink droplet icon at the top of the screen.  Next touch the black rectangle.  At this point a new window will open that says "installed cartridge" and "Supported cartridge".  What are the cartridge numbers listed?

HP introduced regionalized cartridges (Z10, Z20, Z30 and Z40) for the previously universal 950/951 cartridges in about January 2017.  The printer will "lock" itself to the first Zxx cartridge installed in the printer.  If you are in the US/Canada you will need Z10 cartridges, but the printer may have been locked to another region by accident.  In that case you will need to have HP perform a "Regionalization Reset".  You will need to Contact HP to request a "Regionalization Reset". There should not be any charge for this, it is covered as part of the cartridge warranty. You will need to have access to your computer and printer while on the line with HP. You will also need to have a set of cartridges for the new region, once the reset is complete cartridges from the original region will no longer work.  HP's web page on the subject is here.

The regionalization reset is covered by cartridge warranty, see the document here for information. To get warranty coverage you will need to go to the Contact HP page, then enter the information for your printer.  At this point it will likely say "Manufacturer's warranty has expired"  To the right of this it will say "See details".  Click the "See details" link, which will open another page with more details.  Near the bottom of the text will be a paragraph that says :

HP has checked your product information, including the product and serial numbers, to determine your warranty results.

The legal warranty expiration date is based on the date of purchase, as indicated on your receipt. If you feel these results are incorrect, you may submit a dispute for review. Dispute this >

Click on the "Dispute this" link which will ask for some additional contact information.  Fill out the contact information, then in the bottom section select:

Dispute reason

Issue with my Accessories, Supplies and/or Software.

In the comment section indicate that you need a regionalization reset and the cartridges are in warranty.
