I was able to print out a configuration page by holding the Resume and wireless buttons at the same time on the 6100.
The firmware version is the same on the configuration page as what I sent you in my previous e-mail.
Just wanted to be sure by performing the print config page.

the original solution suggested didn't improve things significantly. so i removed the HP software from this computer per your emailed instructions, re-installed it, and repaired disk permissions.
now the printer doesn't function at all. not good. very bad, in fact.
this is my mother's printer, and i only see her once a week. if it doesn't work, she'll be inconvenienced until i can return next wednesday.
I just bought a new HP Pavilion 23, hooked up my HP printer and it's not finding the driver. I tried to install the CD that came with the printer and my computer couldn't read it. I've had the printer quite awhile, but I can't imagine it's too old.
Any ideas [for a not-very-tech-savvy HP user]?

First message I get is "No driver found ... to locate one manually, click OK"
Then a dialog box with browse to the inf area.
I choose C:\temp\hp where I have unzipped the files.
Then I get an error message saying "Connect to Printer; Windows cannot locate a suitable printer driver"
I have tried with all the 64bit drivers on the webpage, 6 PCL, 5PCL, PS and the UPD. All give me the same errors.
I have also tried the install.exe file but it does the same.
I have tried logging in as an administrator, I have tried changing access rights and I have tried relocating the files.
Same error.
I have tried installing Canon printers, and Kyocera printers, they work perfectly.
Up until recently I was using an HP 2410 Photosmart "All in One" printer that I purchased in 2005. I began to have problems with the printer, so I purchased another printer and reccycled the 2410. Prior to recycling the 2410 I was also receiving error messages that HP Photo imaging was not supported. I was also having driver compatibility issues. I thought I uninstalled the 2410, however I continue to get messages re: out of date drivers, image zone no longer supported, compatibility issues, etc.
If I uninstall image zone, will I lose the photes that are on my hard drive that I installed when image zone was functional? I am extremely frustrated.

Imagezone has been replaced with a new product called HP Photo Creations, it should come with new printers or you can download from the following link:
http://www.hp.com/global/us/en/consumer/digital_photography/free/software/photo-creations.html
Uninstall Imagezone won't remove your photos BUT who knows after many years and now with those problems it may act differently therefore on the safe side, please move all photos to other folders OR to an external HDD before uninstall it.

I am having the same problem, screen that comes up to scan chheck ink levels does not come up the same as I originally downloaded, I have the same printer at work and it works fine.

In my office I have to scan and copy many many Legal size documents per day, I recently have aquired this awesome printer Hp Officejet 8600 Plus
The first day I was able to scan a bunch of 2 sided legal paper, very awesome, but then I upgraded the printer, as always confident with the upgrades, but as a result of that I was unable to scan legal size paper again
I was reading a lot of similar issues, and i Cant believe that this is an official desicion, the printer can perfectly scan legal size papper, so the solution is to downgrade the FW to an older version, but I Cant, I tryed with Jetadmin, with OJP8600_N911gn_1232A.exe, and copying the upgrade file *.ful directly to the printer
And always the same thing:
-in the screen of the printer appears the message (Printing) for a few seconds and then backs to the home screen again
In the computter with Jetadmin it stay on 0% for hours
-With OJP8600_N911gn_1232A.exe and the modded EnterpriseDU.ini Appears an error after 20 minutes, and ask me for reset the printer
-Copying the *.ful file on the Printer, just put the Printing screen on the printer 2 or 3 seconds and then backs to the home screen.
I tryed by USb cable, ethernet and even Wireless
Is a security lock in the new firmwares?
How Can I Downgrade the printer?, is urgent, i need to scan a lot of Legal documents
And please activate the option by our own risk option, for legal scan in the next update, I'm tired and dissapointed...

Yes, that is how I tested things. You can download and run the installation, then when the installer cannot find the printer say that you will connect it later.

Step three: Install the printer software. 7. Open the folder where the software file saved (usually Downloads ), double-click the file, and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

I have an HP deskjet 3050A that displays this error message and NOTHING fixes it. I have many other HP products that work well but this product is a lemon. Whether it is covered by warranty or not HP should replace it free of charge. The fact that they ignore that it malfunctions is a disgrace. In ruins their positive reputation. I would now think twice about buying any other HP product.

I've been able to setup my email scan from the HP utilities, however, when I go to the all in one device and choose "scan" and then populate email address, I'm getting an error stating it's unable to locate server.
This is odd because I actually received an email stating that my setup was successful.
Can someone please tell me what I may be overlooking.

I had already comprehensively read the link that you sent me about the DIFxAPI.dll file.
And, as I wrote here on July 14th: The DIFxAPI.dll file is indeed present on my PC: once in Windows/System32/ and once more in Windows/SysWOW64/ But, obviously, it also needs to be somewhere else for the uninstalling program to work. But where?
The best advice of that thread is: "Reinstall the program that uses the difxapi.dll file.". But, as I have already written here, I can't install the HP program because it already thinks that the software is installed.
So in short:
1) I can't uninstall the HP software program because a DIFxAPI.dll file is missing (but this file is where it SHOULD be, e.g. in my Windows/System32/ and Windows/SysWOW64/ directories.
2) I can't install the HP software program because the installerprogram thinks it's already present on my PC
3) I can't use the "Modify" option of the Windows Control Panel because I get this error message:
The feature you are trying to use is on a network resourse that is unavaiable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package "DJ251x64.msi" in the box below.
The problem is that I have no idea where the HP installation package extracts its files... In a temp directory, sure, but I can't find the DJ251x64.msi file...
