i have a HP Officejet Pro 8610 and there is an icon on the desktop I use ALL the time to scan.
using the icon on the desktop to scan and it now opens with error message that line 42 char 17 unable to get property 'UDC STRING-UD Name" of underfined or null reference. it will not let me use this icon short cut as I have for the entire time I have had this printer. help

Did you install Full feature printer drivers?
Is Wi-Fi light blinking/steady on your printer?
Let's try troubleshooting steps from the link.
Step 1: Restart the computer, printer, and router
Step 3: Manually connect the printer to your network (wireless connections only)
Step 4: Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor
Step 5: Temporarily disable firewall software on the computer
Step 6: Uninstall the HP driver and software
Step 7: Reinstall the HP software

No viruses detected in three seperate scans beofore and after the attempt. The printer is not able to print since there are no computers currently connected to it.

Hp Photosmart 7150 wont connect
This printer is a used printer it turns on and has ink, paper everything. When I tried to connect it with my laptop it wont connect. It says that I need the dvd to fully set it up but I dont have it so how can I set it up ? Please help the printer is in really good condition its just I cant set it up. Where can I get the DVD or software it or how do I set it up? Also tried using the Hp Printer and Scanner doctor but it wont connect either way please help

How do I stop Windows 10 from trying to update driver for uninstalled HP Photosmart 7520 printer
My HP Photosmart 7520 all-in-one printer died a few months ago and I unistalled all drivers and software. Since then, several times per day, Windows 10 tries, but fails, to update the driver to the non-existent printer. How do I get Windows 10 to stop trying to update the driver. I receive the message "Hewlett-Packard - Imaging, Other hardware - Null Fax - HP Photosmart 7520 series - Failed to install" as many as six times per day.
There are no HP items in the start-up menu

Install gets Stuck at "Gathering Device Information"
So recently got the printer....it hooks up fine with my computer running Windows....with the MAC i uninstalled the old HP stuff (we had a 8600 that we got rid off) I download the HP Easy Start and when I click "Continue" it finds the Device then I click on Continue and the software gets stuck on "Gathering Device Information" I am connected Wirelessly....I have restarted printer as well as the printer but never gets past that point.....appreciate any help....

I have had this problem since my printer was new. I am running windows 10 and have FINALLY found a solution.
You need to be able to access your router via wifi or directly connected to the router via ethernet.
Next you need to go into the security settings and check which method of security you currently are running.
I found that i was set up for WPA2, Set it to WPA OR WPA-PSK. The problem seemed to stem from the printer not being able to communicate properly for some reason. As soon as i changed it to WPA ( INSTEAD OF WPA2***) and Voila it went to working like a charm.

HP Drivers for Photosmart C4580 for MAC OS Sierra 10.12
Unfortunately this does not work. The driver downloads, does not printer does not work. I just get an error message that says "the printer is not connected." I followed directions to the letter.

Try these steps :
Fax Null error
1) Start => Settings => Devices => ...click and REMOVE DEVICE: a) Photosmart 7520 series and, b) Null Print Printer
2) Uninstalled all the components of Photosmart 7520 series in the following order
HP Update
Product Improvement...
Photosmart 7520 series Help
Photosmart 75200 series Basic Device Software
3) Right clicked the Start button => Clicked DEVICE MANAGER => (under my PC's) Printers => ....clicked to highlight the Null Print => Action pull down menu => UNINSTALL
4) Restart your PC, checked the DEVICE MANAGER (from right clicked start selection) - NULL Print should be gone. Check the DEVICES from SETTINGS (Start => Settings), No NULL PRINT this time

Bottom of Page No Longer Prints
For years, I've been able to make flyers with a 1/4 inch margin on all four sides that printed beautifully on the 8600. Now, all of a sudden, the bottom is cut off, no matter what adjustments I make to the document. I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, but nothing is working. I did a hard reset. Any suggestions?

Hi, could you confirm whether your product name is it Officejet C4780 by any chance? If this is an AirPrint printer, you should have be able to use the builtin scanning capability using Image Capture for instance. If not AirPrint, try the HP Easy Scan from the App Store
