I see from the post that you are having issues installing your HP DeskJet F4280 printer on your PC running Windows 7. Don't worry as I have a few steps to help you get through this concern,

To answer your question, F4200/F4224 are of the same series so it should work, However, I'm going to help you with the steps:

Let's try these steps here:

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13 ). Restart the PC

14 ). Now click on this link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software11/COL30102/al-74858-1/DJ_AIO_03_F4200_NonNet_Full_Win_WW_130_140.exe and install the updated printer drivers for this printer.

15 ). connect the USB cable only when prompted and follow the on-screen instructions on setting up the printer.

I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes for further assistance.

Re: HP Photosmart C310 Ink Cartridge problem

Hi ,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you are getting a cartridge problem error on your HP Photosmart Premium e-All-in-One Printer - C310.

This issue could occur if the electrical contacts on the ink cartridge or the printhead are not clean.

Let's go through a few steps to troubleshoot this issue.

And here's the step by step guide for you in the link: Ink Cartridge Errors

Let me know how this works.

You have a good day ahead.

Latest driver for 8610 Officejet Pro

I recently had problems with "Printer Offline" errors.  I downloaded what I think is the latest driver update.  It is entitled

"OJ8610_198".  It is an application file.  I ran the file and updated the driver in all three of my computers.   The file version ID is 1.4.1926.0 and the creation date is 5/8/17.  Just today I received an email from HP saying I should update my driver.  Is the update I downloaded the most current update for this printer?

can't get laserjet 2300 printer working in windows 7 (64 bit) even with the drivers from HP

I downloaded & installed all the drivers from the HP site for this printer (laserjet 2300) for Win7 64 but it still says the driver is missing - connected via usb to HP XPS tower.  tried multiple install options (static, dynamic, usb) but cannot get it to work - the system recognizes the printer, but says there are no drivers installed. upd-pcl5-x64-6.1.0.20062 (1)  upd-ps-x64-6.4.1.22169 (1)  upd-pcl5-x64-6.1.0.20062 are the names of the driver files I downloaded - (pcl5, pcl6, and ps) - none work.  I had been using this printer for years with a laptop (through a docking station) with a usb connection.  What is wrong here?  Thanks

As I understand the scanned files are corrupted while scanning from the PC, however, it works fine while scanned from the printer,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

Re: need help with ink system failure Oxc19a0020

Hi ,

Thank you for showing your interest in HP Support Forums. It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for the First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.

I see from the post that you are getting a '0x' error message on your HP printer. Don't worry as I have a few steps to help you get through this concern,

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Could you provide me with the Printer product number? (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...) http://hp.care/2bygf7l

What is the Operating system installed on the PC?

Are you using genuine HP ink cartridge or refilled cartridges?

Did you make any changes on the printer before the issue started?

In the meantime, let's start off by performing a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

Remove all the ink cartridges and then try to perform a hard reset on the printer.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Now insert the ink cartridges and then try to print a test page and check if it works.

If your printer connected wirelessly, make sure to temporary connect the device with USB and then follow the link to check for the latest firmware update if available for your printer, using this website

Please respond to this post with the printer product number for further troubleshooting. I'll be looking forward to hearing from you.

Eagerly waiting for your response!

I hope you have a good day ahead,

And Feel free to ask your queries as this forum has some of the best people in the world

Available and ready to help.

Regards,

HP Officejet G55

I am trying to install an older printer on my laptop.  It will print some things, but I am getting error messages, and not everything will print.  I get a message that the printer is a 2.0 and will not work with a 3.0, although I did get the troubleshooter to indicate that that had been fixed.  I am downloading HP Easy Start at this time.  HP Support stated that the G55 is no longer supported, however the printer was being used on another PC running Windows 10 (as this one is) without problems.  The printer shows up in my printer list, and I have put it as the default printer.  Please advise.

Re: New HP ENVY printer 5540 will not print in colour

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

The Riddle_Decipher is at your service.

I understand your HP Envy 5540 printer will not print in color,

I'll be glad to help you out, however, for an accurate solution I will need more details:

What operating system used with the printer?

Did you check if genuine HP cartridges are being used?

While you respond to that, here's what you need to do:

Step 1: Use genuine HP ink cartridges

HP recommends that you use genuine HP ink or toner supplies. HP cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of non-HP or refilled cartridges. If you do not use genuine HP cartridges, the steps in this document might not resolve the issue. To check the authenticity of your cartridges, go to hp.com/go/anticounterfeit.

Step 2: Check the estimated ink levels

Low ink can contribute to poor print quality. Check the estimated ink levels on the printer control panel, and then replace any low or empty ink cartridges.

Step 3: Replace any low or empty ink cartridges

Replace any critically low or empty ink cartridges, and then try to print again.

HP LaserJet CP1025nw, can't update firmware, RFU is on

My CP1025nw won't update to the newest firmware -- 20160412 .  I get a success message after running the utility but the new firmware doesn't 'take'.  I attempted to update using printer USB cable.  The printer's device configuration page still shows old 20130826 firmware.

RFU is on, after following steps outlined in another thread.  I am having printing issues where black toner splotches are appearing on right side of page. I've tried running the cleaner utility multiple times but problem persists.

Any help is appreciated.

Re: I need help

Hi ,

Thank you for replying,

I appreciate your time and efforts,

I understand you are still having the issue with the double print, Could you elaborate more on this issue as this will help me in further assisting you?

In the meantime, let's try these steps here:

Perform a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

Let’s first try and make a “photocopy” to determine whether the issue is with the printer or not. Place a document on the scanner glass and choose “Copy” option. If the printer is making a good copy, then the printer hardware is fine.

If your printer connected wirelessly, make sure to temporary connect the device with USB and then follow the link to check for the latest firmware update if available for your printer, using this link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/en5530/EN5530_R1547A.exe

Please respond to this post with the details for further assistance.

As I understand you need help connecting the HP C6280 printer with a Macbook pro,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

What is the product number of your product? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824

Did you check for any HP Articles that has the solution you are looking for?

Did you restart the computer, printer, and router to establish a fresh connections?

While you respond to that, here's what you need to do:

Step 1: Restart the computer, printer, and router

Restart the computer, printer, and router to resolve any network or communication error states.

   NOTE:

The following steps temporarily disconnect network and Internet connections, and require restarting your computer. Complete any tasks or downloads in progress before continuing.

  1. Disconnect the power cord from the router.

  2. Turn off the printer.

  3. Close all running programs on your computer, including the HP software installation window, then shut down the computer.

  4. Reconnect the power cord to the router, then wait for the Internet activity light to display a normal connected status.

  5. Turn on the printer.

  6. Turn on the computer.

  7. Try installing the HP software again.

    • If the printer is found during the installation, the issue is resolved.

    • If the printer is not found during the installation, continue to the next step.

Step 2: Check the network and printer connection status

Make sure your network is working correctly and that the printer is ready for the network setup.

  1. If you are using a wireless router, check your router’s documentation or support site to make sure it meets the following requirements:

    • Check the router band: Many routers can operate in both 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz frequency bands, but not all HP printers support both bands. Make sure the 2.4 GHz router band is enabled and broadcasting. If the router broadcasts separate network names (SSIDs) for each band, connect the printer to the 2.4 GHz band SSID.

Re: Setting up EasyScan on a Second Mac

David,

After sending the email yesterday, I did everything that you suggested today, yesterday  Deleted all of the old software on my wife's computer and reloaded it with Easy Scan.  Reset the printer (turned it off and back on again), and low and behold, the scan function now works on my wife's computer!  I really appreciate your response to my post.  Thank you very much.  I will not hesitate to use this again if I get stumped with something else.  Thanks again.
