Sorry, the firmware utility would not let me install the firmware update. It said the firmware was up-to-date.
Hopefully, there are some more things I can try?

Hi. Can't print from disc. Tries to force me into sending a fax and when I cancel the fax order the printing stops. How can I print a file from disc? Thanks! ~T.~
The document you provided is for printing to your printer when it is connected to a computer and using the application on your phone to print to the printer with the app which uses the net to communicate with your computer and then sends the print job from the computer. Your phone and printer does not provide a direct usb connection since your phone does not have software drivers for the printer.
I don't know why you are saying that my phone and my printer are unable to communicate via USB connection whether the connection is obvious when the phone app "HP Print Service Plugin" detects the exact model of printer? Is it possible without having a driver software?
Second, if I dont have an android driver of my printer, how can I get that? Any possiblity
Yesterday or the day before I installed the latest HP printer driver on my Mac. Today, when I tried to print double-sided with the duplex attachment, I couldn't find the option in the print window. Before the update double-sided printing was an easily selectable option. But now, how do I print double-sided copies?
Many thanks,
Christopher B
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I hope you're well
I read about the issue you are having with your Officejet 6500 Wireless and wanted to reach out. I believe this to be a hardware problem with the printer, and would recommend a power reset and ensure the printer is plugged in directly to a wall outlet. If that does not help the display problems, then please call phone support to see about a replacement or trade in.
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the unit.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the unit.
If the printer does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
Hit the "Accept as Solution" if we've reached a solution, and the "thumbs up" to say thanks for my help.
Have a great day

Hi,
Don't click on the option that says only Properties
Click on Printer Properties after you right click on the Printer icon
Thanks for your reply. The 7310 was successfully installed on two desktop computers and two laptop computers. I recently changed ISPs and in the process, installed new routers on my network at the same time. About a week after this change, the problems began.
One desktop and one laptop lost connectivity with the 7310 through HP Solutions Center. Upon opening the HP Solutions Center, I got the message that the device installation was not complete, even though it previously functioned normally. After several repair attempts, I uninstalled all the software and attempted to reinstall the device. I've made several attempts to install using the HP Support Assistant and the HP Print and Scan Doctor. I've also tried installing direct from the download file. After each unsuccessful installation attempt, I've uninstalled using both HP and Revo. I've also scrubbed the registries before reinstalling. Each reinstall fails at same the point - after selecting a wired network device from the screen that offers the choice between a network device and a usb device.
Interestingly, the second desktop and the second laptop on the network continue to successfully connect to the 7310 through HP Solutions Center. However, all four pcs need to be able to connect to the 7310.
I think the problem may have something to do with the network IP address. Each time I begin a new installation, the installer identifies an installed 7300 device at 192.168.1.101. However, no device is connected at that adderss. Next, I click retry and the installer eventually locates the uninstalled 7300 series device at 192.168.1.10 - the correct address. I highlight that device and click 'Okay' and it begins the installation process. The process continues until I get to the screen that offers a choice to select a usb device or a wired network device. After selecting the wired network device option, the installer continues for about ten seconds and then stops with the error message box that says "The specified device does not exist as an installed service." When I click okay, it takes me back to the screen that offers the choice between a usb device and a wired network device. I have not been able to get past that screen.
As you might imagine, this is a very frustrating problem. If you can identify a step that I missed, I will be happy to give it another go.
Thanks for your help. I was able to delete the HP assistant but the only software that would delete it was the Microsoft Fixit program. The REVE uninstaller couldn't find the HP Assistant program.
HOWEVER..it's nice to have a new reinstalled version that isn't showing a message I can't delete, BUT...in trying to update the program does connect to the HP Server but still shows x's for the balance of the updates. Must be the new Windows 10 update.
Any suggestions.
Thank you.
The app may see the printer but since it is not connected the way it needs to be connected it will not print. You can not I repeat can not directly connect the HP Laserjet 1320 to a phone. It will not work. The printer has to be connected to a computer or your network and then you print using the app to the computer or network. See the link below:
Dear DocCottle,
Thank you for your advise.
However, still the situation is same. I can print but can't send fax directly from PC for there is no FAX icon.(or driver?)
After I downroaded your suggested softwear(DJ3830 - 72), there were 2 printer drivers appeared to set up printer such as:
1) HP 72931D (HP Deskjet 3830 series)
2) Direct - 1D - HP Deskjet 3830 series
The first one could set up without problem, but second one was always stuck at the page to enter WPS PIN.
The printer shows PIN code and I entered the code, but my PC didn't recognize the printer.(time has run out.)
I've tried to use Print & Scan Doctor, but it didn't work.
I really appreciate if you could advise me further solution.
FYI: My PC is Dell Inspiron 14
Any wisdom? Cannot get my hpScan to work on my Mac?
Got this printer as hand me down. I was able to find the driver or so I thought and the install did not go smooth and actually had errors.
Im running Windows 7 32-bit. What is the correct driver for this operating system? If someone can link to it I would appreciate it.
Also if the install fails again is there anything I should look for? I have made sure the Firewall will allow the software but also turned it off for awhile and still the same failed install.
Thanks
Hello @DVortex!
So I tried both your advice and both of the link's directions. I started with restting the printing system (the printer was listed, but still could not be found when trying to print), and when I went to add the printer back it did not come up on the list, I also tried searching using the IP address. I uninstalled and reinstalled the HP installation software, restarted my computer and the printer, and again reset the network settings and set the printer to default settings, everything is on the same wifi network. Nothing seems to be working. I'm just really confused because it comes up at the begining of the installation process but it's like as soon as it's on the wifi and its just checking everything over my computer loses it. After I did all of this again the printer did not reappear in my printers/scanners list. I'm at a loss. The printer still works from my phone though.
Thank you for all of your help!
I just bought a new HP deskjet 3631 printer for my Win dows XP computer and it wont print anything and it keep saying close door and the door is shut ....it did not print a test page
