Whenever I try to install the drivers for my Officejet 5746, I get an error message that says there is a problem with the package and the error code is 2753.  Does anyone know what this means?

I am about to return my printer to Costco.

Hi,

Still no luck. I removed the printer and scanner, deleted the driver, downloaded & installed the latest printer software from the HP website(no errors, test page looks great).

Opened the HP Support program, added the printer, then told it to check for updates and messages, got the same results.

Ran Print and Scan Doctor. it said it fixed some printer issue, but the problem is still there.

We are trying to use an HP Officejet Pro 8720 on a Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 terminal server. We have the driver configured on the terminal server and not using easy print driver. The printer doesn't print even with the easy print driver.

We have updated the Firmware and Driver

Issues  :

Printer page struck in middle and takes long time to get the print out and some issues

But it works when its configured in Client OS ( Win 10 or 8 )

Do we have any driver for WinServer R2 ?

Thanks

I was using Laser Jet Pro MFP M127fw for printing and scanning.
I accidently remove the driver from (Add and Remove Control Panel). but now when i install it again, it first remove the provious  files and ask for reboot. After rebooting when I install the driver, it again remove previous files and ask for reboot. so this process continue.
I already downloaded driver from HP support, also try HP Support Assistant but still no gain. Is there anyone to guide me where is issue.

Error 0x00000057 Wireless and Wireless Direct Windows Printer Properties panel-- Print Test Page

$

I have a Win7 64-bit Toshiba Satellite laptop and a HP 8600 Pro Plus,
updated firmware and drivers about 2 weeks ago for the 8600 been a
long time since I updated, which is connected wireless decided to
setup Wireless Direct Printing once setup I tried to do a windows
Print Test Page in the printer property panel, kinda normal for
setting up a printer

Under the Wirelees connection I got the Error message 0x00000057
Under Wireless Direct Printing I got the same Error 0x00000057

After spending time verifying settings, connections and asking
why? I decided to see if I could print docs, I did print a PDF,
Notepad and Word documents in each application under both
configurations no problem.

Under the wireless  Connection I started the Web Services module
and was able to do the Print Test page within the Web Services
module no problem yet could still not do the Print Test Page
within the Printer properties panel.

I did run Print and Scan Doctor which to my surprise mentioned
a Driver conflict I allowed this program to uninstall the driver,
went to look up the driver and the same driver was listed so did
not download but did remove the driver and reinstalled the driver.
Error message still there.

I am now tempted to remove Wireless direct printing and see
what happens, if the error goes away, if not unstall everything
related to the printer and do a clean reinstall. Under an emergency
is there an alternative to using the Web Service module to setting
up when not connected to the wirless network?

I'm thinking the printer panel would do this (I'll look into this later

spend enough time on this), or do I need to run Web Services to

setup Wireless Direct, just thought about this otherwise I'll pull

out a usb cable.  Maybe if I setup Wireless Direct on the printer panel

the message will go away being setup on the printer not software

on the laptop?

It's a minor issue since I can still print but the question remains Why!

Seeing other questions regarding this error message thought I

would pass my experience with this error.

Still got a couple of things to think about and try, Another time.

If your getting this error message I suggest trying a print test page

within Web Service module to see if the message come up.

HI ,

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support Forums for a solution to your installation issue.

I understand that you are trying to install an HP Officejet 7310 All-in-One Printer on your Windows 10 computer but the installation is alway incomplete. I would like to help.

I would try downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor. If the utility discovers software issues it might find and help install the needed software.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.

HP Envy 4520 Connection Issues

$

So I am a college freshman. I followed the instructions to set up my HP Envy 4520 All-in-One and I was able to turn it on and connect it to my college wifi. My laptop is sitting right next to the printer and they are both on the same network. For some reason my printer cannot connect to my laptop. I tried the online solutions and I even looked at the manual, I spent literally 2 hours sitting here trying to figure out what is wrong. I restarted both the printer and the laptop 5 times. I unplugged my printer and did the whole waiting and plug back in. I tried reconnecting to the wifi on both my laptop and printer, and I even have the CD that came with the printer (not sure if that helps).  I don't have a long enough USB cord and I am trying to use the benefits of havong a wireless printer but I am struggling. When I search my printer I type the right model, I use the right IP address to connect the two but it does not work. It keeps complaining that it is an "Auto IP" (I don't understand how that is a problem, but if you have a response to this then please let me know). I want to print my college assignments out without having to walk all the way to the computer lab early in the morning. It tells me to restart my router but I don't have the power to do that since I am in college.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

I know for sure many colleges won't allow students to use private wirelesss printers. Please check with your college first.

After that, you can run setup from the CD which comes with your printer and select wireless. My test run from CD's which came with HP printers not once, not twice but dozens times on Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 on dozenz of different laptops from HP, Dell, Asus, Toshiba,  Lenovo  and all of them work.

Regards.

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support Forums for a solution to your installation issue.

I understand that you are trying to install an HP Officejet 5746 e-All-in-One Printer on a Windows 7 computer but are unable to because "there is a problem with the package and the error code is 2753". I would like to help.

It is not an error that we see here very much, but in a search for a solution I found this post on the Microsoft Community Forums that may help - Error 2753 Preventing Uninstall/Reinstall.

Computer Can't Find Printer

$

Hello!,

I just bought a new HP Envy 4520. I downloaded the set up software and got to the screen where you set it up with the wifi. It always freezes when it gets to the point where it says something like "checking printer software". When I go into the wireless settings directly on the printer it says it is set up with the wireless, and my computer registers that it is there, however it cannot find the printer when I actually go to print. I tried resetting the network settings and the device settings on the printer; it made no difference. I did download the All-in-One app on my phone and set up my printer there; I can print from my phone. However, I use my computer for documents more so I would really like to fix this.

Thank you!

Re: HP Support Assistant messages will not delete

I have three problems with the HP Assistant I have version 8.3.34.7.  The main  page doesn't show this version so I really don't know where I got it from.

My first problem is that the HP Assistant won't connect after it signs into the HP server. I get only x's on the update screen. I have an HP Envy Desktop 750-120 and two HP Printers that are not getting updated.  It says last checked for updates on 07/31/16..

My second problem is that the HP Assistant doesn't show up in the Control Panel so I'm unable to uninstall/reinstall it. Only  two files HP Support Information and the Hp Solutions Framework are listed.

My third problem is that an error doesn't go away the error says troubleshooting paper cartridge jams but I don't have a paper jam. I have trashed the message and each time I reboot, it reappears.

I can find the HP Assistant software in the HP Recovery Manager, and have reinstalled it from that link but still doesn't fix any of the problems.

My system updated Windows 10 on 08/24/16 and again on 08/31/16.

Any help or advise is appreciated.

Unable to install drivers for printer HP Laserjet Pro MFP M127fn on new windows 10 acer laptop

This is my third Failed attempt to install drivers for printer Laserjet Pro MFP M127fn on my new Acer windows 10 OEM laptop. I have used the HP installer with no customiztion of components (the default recommended) with USB cable connection. It goes upto the stage of product setup 99% and then gives error: " An install operation took too long to execute. This is a fatal error preventing product use. Please restart your computer and run the installer again. If the problem persists please check product suppprt web site for your product..""

I also tried to use the devices and printers interface after restarting the computer by selecting add printer option, it seemed to have installed the printer but it could not print the test page. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

[Solved] Re: HP Easy Start appears to succeed but no PPD files are installed

Solved.  I found a post that basically described the following procedure for MacOS El Capitan:

  1. Under "System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General > Allow apps downloaded from:", make a note of the current setting (for me it was: "Mac App Store and identified developers").  Then select "Anywhere".
  2. Run the "HP Easy Start".  This time, I had a choice to install "Essential Software" -- that never appeared before and of course, it made all the difference.  Finish installing and setup the printer.
  3. Verify the printer works as expected.
  4. Under "System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General > Allow apps downloaded from:", select whatever you had before.

No resetting the print subsystem, disk first aid, fixing disk permissions, or rebooting was needed.  Now the PPD files are installed and everything is working as expected.

I checked the security and privacy settings on my MacBook Pro (where I had previously installed this driver) and it was also set to "Mac App Store and identified developers" so I suspect that when I first installed the driver files in the past, I had a different version of MacOS and that version behaved differently with regard to the security and privacy settings.  Or possibly HP didn't properly sign one of its installer files after updating it.

In any case, I hope this post will help somebody in the future.

Thanks for your help!!! Using the info on the link and from another forum I was able to get my printer to work. These are the steps I used.

1. Uninstall HP office jet software
2. Perform a L3 and L4 deletion from the CD
3. Download and run CCleaner
4. Click on registry and fix all problems in CCleaner
5. Download the Officejet 5740 basic driver
6. Install basic driver and follow instructions

Hi,

From the printer navigate the Setup menu using the right and left arrows and locate the Service menu.

Look for HP Smart Install option within the Service menu (it might appear and might no depanding on your printer version), if it is there select Disable for HP Scmart Install.

From your PC right click the start menu and select Control Panel, then select View devices and Printers.

Be sure to remove any HP printer icon (either the M127 or any other HP driver) by right clicking the icon and selecting Remove Device, next restart the computer.

Go back to Devices and Printers and select any remaining print queue by left clicking it once, then press on Print Server Properties from the top menu bar.

Select any listed HP print driver and select Remove, be sure to select the 2nd option to remove both the printer and its driver package.

From the Control Panel home, type 'Change Device Installation Settings and open the shown option, then select No and confirm by pressing OK.

Now try reinstalling the latest drivers and check for any difference.

Hi,

From the control panel select devices and printers, right click teh printer icon and select Printer Properties.

Within the Ports tab, take a note of which port is selected for your printer and close that windows.

Click Add Printer, then click 'The printer that I want isn't listed'.

Select a Local printer or a network printer with manual settings, then press next.

Select the same port as used by your printer and press next.

Select HP from the left pane, then select HP Officejet Pro K850 Series (HP) and follow the steps to complete the add printer wizard.

Note: if the specific model isn't available, press Windows Update and check again once the update completes.

Now try printing using the added alternate driver from Publisher or Illustrator, it should offer A3 capabilities.

Shlomi
