It is a brand new Windows 8 computer...no upgrade.
All updates have been applied.
I have been using the correct shut down procedure.
I did the fix it tool to uninstall the printer software, checked to make sure it was all gone and reinstalled but with the same result.
I did not not want to doa refresh because I have subsequently installed Visual Studio 2012 (I am an app developer) and I did not want to have to reinstall Visual Studio al over again.
I do have some additional information which I retrieved from Visual Studio on the error. It appears to be a permission error on a thread, I tried setting all permissions on HP services and executables to administrative but no luck. I will attach details on the error below.
I also looked into User Control and Norton permission or blocks but nothing there either.
I did see something unusual I think about the HPNetworkCommunicatorCom.exe in task manager...look like 2 of these are running concurrently. I will attach details below.
I also discovered that the printer needed a bios update which could only be initiated from the actual printer. I did the update but still no luck.
Here are the details I mentioned...
