If you are having a problem installing your printer on your Windows 8 PC, I want to offer a document similar to what you are experiencing that also offers a work-around.

Since the LaserJet 1600 is also a Commercial LaserJet, you should also post your problem on the HP Enterprise Business Community so that you can also gain exposure to, not only other owners of this printer, but also the experts that work on them. That way if I am unable to assist you, people who may know more about extensive networks and business solutions will hopefully respond as well.
Can you tell me more about the installation errors you are receiving? Do you see any numbers or codes as mentioned in the above link? Also, let me know if their solution in the link works for you or not and what happened so I can hopefully be of some assistance.
