What type your Windows 7 operating system, is it 32 or 64 bit?

Is it connected via USB or thorugh the network?

For 32 bit you may use the Vista software in compatibility mode to get full functionality, for 64-bit scanning is onl supported via direct USB connection as you may find stated below:
