Hi,
I am considering moving our Officejet 4215xi All-in-One from a Windows XP PC to a Windows 7 PC.
Little confused: I found a Windows 7 full feature suite for the Officejet version 14 dated 4/25/2011 - however when searched on my product @ HP I found this msg:
The drivers for your HP product are already included in the new Windows 7 operating system! You do not need to download drivers to use the product . Simply connect the printer to your computer with a USB cable, and Windows Update automatically installs the driver for your product.
So it sounds like we don't need to install the drivers to use basic print features because they're already there. We'll still be able to print two sided, landscape, two pages per sheet, etc?
But we still want the Solution Center - would it be safer to install the print drivers first by connecting the USB cable & then install the Full Feature Suite? It seems like I've run into trouble before installing an older printer like this (that came out prior to Vista) on a Windows 7 PC.
I imagine while installing the Full Feature Suite the drivers installed when plugging the USB cable in will be over written anyway.
thanks
