Hello Mr_Cee,

I see that you're having scan issues with your printer and Windows 8.1. I will do my best to help you with this.

As per your last question, I would say that would be the ideal option. Uninstall and reinstall the software to refresh the driver and installation on the computer. This may also allow the required exceptions into any security/firewall software on your computer that may be blocking the communication.

Also, that I can better assist you could you please provide the printer model and product numbers. :)
