Just to let you know, I was able to confirm that this is a feature that is impossible to do using HP Solution Center. There was an attempt made to make this possible but the permissions of the scan folder will never stay open to the network. I am sorry to say you were correct actually. The only way to get this to work is to get a printer that has a software version of 22 or newer. I just wanted to come back to this thread to inform you of my findings. :)
