Hello, – Hope you are well Smiley Happy

Thanks for accessing the HP Support Forums for extra support! I see that you are having issues with your printer. I will do my best to assist you with this issue!

Going through your post I am not very sure what the operating system on your PC is. It is necessary to know the operating system, to provide you with the specific steps. Hence, please do let me know the same.

Alternatively, if you are using the Windows OS, first try to fix this issue using HP Print and Scan Doctor (PSDR). PSDR is an automated tool which can diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. Please go to http://hp.care/2bZ9w2q to download and run HP PSDR. Once you open the program, select your printer and click on “Fix Printing” to automatically diagnose and fix the issue.

If your PC is running the MAC OS, then try the steps here:

  • Click the Apple menu icon, and then click “System Preferences”.
  • Click “Printers and Scanner” / “Print and Scan” or “Print and Fax”.
  • Right-click the blank space in the Printers list, and then click “Reset printing system”.
  • Click “Reset” in the confirmation window.
  • Enter an administrator username and password, and then click “OK”.
  • Wait until the printing system is reset and no devices show in the Printers list
  • Restart your computer and then go back to System preferences – Printers and scanners.
  • Click the “Add button” (+).
  • Find, and then select the name of your printer from the printer list, and then click “Add” to add your printer.
  • Click “Print Using...”, and then select the name of your printer (By default “Airprint” would be selected)

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance reply with the operating system details.

Have a great day Smiley Happy

Hello, – Greetings!

Thanks for accessing the HP Support Forums for extra support! I will do my best to assist you with this issue Smiley Happy

I understand that you are getting the Solution center popup. Let’s try a clean install to fix this issue. Follow the steps below:

  • First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Photosmart printer entries including the Solution center and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata”– Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Now click http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software11/COL30099/mp-74848-1/PS_AIO_02_NonNet_Full_Win_WW_130_140.exe to install the software.
  • Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance reply with the operating system details.

Have a great day Smiley Happy

Thanks, Tara, for both the information and also the quick reply. My only question now is can some of it be deleted or should I just leave well enough alone?

"HP OfficeJet Pro 6960 All-in-One series Full Software Solution” - Is it Vista 32-bit compatible?

$

I've downloaded and installed what HP calls the "Basic Driver" [OJ6960__Basicx86_1979.exe] for my OfficeJet Pro 6968.

HP indicates:  "This basic feature software solution is a driver-only software solution intended for customers who only want a basic driver to use with their HP printer. If you want the full feature software solution, it is available as a separate download named “HP OfficeJet Pro 6960 All-in-One series Full Software Solution”.

I'd really like to get the "full feature software solution", but can't find it on the HP site.

Maybe it is not compatible with Vista 32-bit so when my OS is detected, HP "hides" it from me.

Or maybe I'm bad at playing "hide and seek"! Smiley Wink

- I'd appreciate it if someone can confirm if it is Vista 32-bit compatible or not.

- If it is compatible, I'd really appreciate it if someone could lead me to it.

Thanks,

Marty

Hello@alexip74,

Thanks for using the HP Forums. One Stop for all sort of solutions for your HP Products.

I have read your post and understand that you need assistance in finding the required driver for the printer. Is that, right? I will be glad to help you.

HP has developed the drivers for the conventional domestic Windows versions and not for any business versions line Professional and server editions.

You can use the printer as a standalone or with the PC if it doesn’t have any business edition operating systems on it.

This should solve the issue.  Let me know for more solution.

Hi ,

Thank you for showing your interest in HP Support Forums. It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for the First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.

As I understand you are having printing issues on your HP Envy 7645 printer. I'll try my best to help you with this,

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

How is the printer connected (USB/Wired/Wireless)?

Did any changes take place on the printer after which this issue may have started?

In the meantime, let's try these steps here

Please make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

Remove all the ink cartridges and then try to perform a Hard reset on the printer.

* With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

* Remove USB cable, if present.

* Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

* Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

* Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

* Now insert the ink cartridges and then try to print a test document and check if it works.

Let’s first try and make a “photocopy” to determine whether the issue is with the printer or not. Place a document on the scanner glass and choose “Copy” option. If the printer is making a good copy, then the printer hardware is fine.

If the issue persists, I would suggest let's try to uninstall the printer software and then download and install the full feature software.

Let's try these steps here:

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Restart the PC

14.) Now download and install the full feature software using this link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/en7640/EN7640__Full_WebPack_1092.exe

Let me know how it goes for further assistance.

,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out.

I understand that you are unable to print in black from your HP Photosmart 6510 e-All-in-One Printer.

Don't worry as I have a few steps that should help fix this issue.

This could be an issue with the printhead of the unit.

And here's the step by step guide for you in the link: Printer Prints a Blank Page or Does Not Print Black or Color Ink

Let me know how that works.

I hope you have a good day ahead.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

There is only Basic Software available for the   Vista 32bit .  You can install that and it should be able to print.

Can you try this standalone scan software and let us know if that works?

HP Scan Extended

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"

Some scanning resources for you:

Scanning for Dummies

Hope that helps!

greenturtle, Thanks for the reply:

"There is only Basic Software available for the  Vista 32bit .  You can install that and it should be able to print."

You've saved me some time and frustration! Smiley Happy

Fortunately, the Basic software seems to provide ALL the major functions from the computer. I can Print, Copy, Scan and Fax using the Printer Assistant that loaded onto the computer with the basic software.

I can't scan from the Control Panel, but the Printer Assistant handles scanning quite well.

So, no need for me to install HP Scan Extended, but thanks for making me aware of it.

I'd say that the Basic software gets the job done with a golden-oldie Vista OS, and I can definitely manage without the Full software that provides some additional Control Panel functionality.

So, Kudos and Accepted Solution have been selected!

Thanks,

Marty

Thank you, Green Turtle.

Using the video, I was able to add my printer, which has an IP address of 10.0.0.5; however, I received the error message:"

Unable to connect to ‘10.0.0.5’ due to an error. Would you still like to create the printer?

I went forward and created the printer, but when I tried to print something, I got the error message: "The printer is not responding."

Any further suggestions?

Again, thank you.

HP Photosmart 7510 drops fax support

$

I bought 2 HP photosmart 7510 printers 4 years ago, one for myself and one for my mother.  I loved the ability to send my 90 year old mother pictures and the availability of fax over the internet without need for phone connection.

Now HP has dropped support for both of these features so I am left with my printer that has NO WAY to Fax and no way to send photos to my 94 year old mother.  This is a very poor customer service issue.  I dought I will ever purchase another HP product for fear that it will be totally obsolete in 4 years.

Hi, I am trying to hook up my old printer (HP Photosmart C4180 all in one) to a newer computer (Macbook Pro running on OS X, version 10.9.5).  I can't seem to locate the software on the HP site.  Any help would be appreciated.  I don't have all the stuff (CD, owners manual) the printer originally came with because I never anticipated wanting to hook it up to a new computer.

I am tryingto register my new printer, but am informed that the claim code has expired, and I need help in either having it restored or obtaining a new one.  Can you help, please.  Do not suggest telephoning HP in UK.  I have tried that, and had to give up because it was too confusing and most unhelpful.
