Well, the scripts are running now but a worse problem has occured.
If I start the printer manager with the HP Officejet Pro 8600 icon on the desktop, the computer will eventually crash - out of memory. The reason for this is something is continually starting new HP Printer Assistants. If I look in task manager I see the app continually being added to the tasks until all the resources are used up. I also see many dialogs asking me if I want to send information to Microsoft on the cause of a probelm with HP Printer Assistant. When I look at the file associations in the Control Panel I see that .hta files are set to HP Printer Assistant. Is this correct? I will attach pictures of the errors I continualy get and wht task manager is showing me about HP Printer Assistant:
