Very good question Jan. I may not be an expert of Enterprise LaserJets but I do have a lot of success working on installation error messages. In every effort to avoid referring you to Windows or Microsoft, I have been working avidly on answering that question for you. I have not given up on your issue but instead am going from both the printer department and computer department to find a way to get past that error message and get your printer installed (the problem is trying to keep it simple).
You may have already tried this and granted it is simply another means to see if this tool will find your printer, but I really hope this works. It is called the HP Printer Install Wizard. Sorry MIcrosoft Fix It did not work. I have a Windows 7 computer and could not find in the website where Windows 8 was not supported. However, I believe your error is related to your print spooler, in fact. So I do have another step for you to try if this one doesn't work or if you have already tried it.
