Re: Old printer driver problem

Thanks for the reply. I had this problem when I first installed the driver, when I bought the printer, but found a post on how to correct it and was able to do so. But after I reinstalled it later I forgot to disable scan from the printer, which causes a problem, and so I had the busy cursor intermittently, again. I turned the scan from printer off but it didn't work, so I reinstalled and it seemed to work but then the problem came back!? I then found that after uninstalling the driver it still leaves a folder in User - app data - local, I think you need to show hidden to see it, so I deleted it and reinstalled without enabling the scan from printer option and this seems to have worked, but only time will tell. I am disappointed that HP can not write a printer driver that is fully compatible with Windows 7 64, it's not like it's a rare OS. Thanks anyway: AlwaysNeon.
