unable to connect HP Pfficejet Pro 8500A910

My system is a Lenovo Thinkpad Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.

A year or so I called a technician because I was having problems connecting my laptop to my printer.  A driver with the name of HPA7A245 was downloaded by the technician to my printer and I was then able to connect. I then had both the HP OfficejetPro8500A910 driver and the HPA7A245 driver on my laptip, but only the 8500A910 was showing in my programs list, and I discovered I was unable to scan with the HPA7A245 printer driver, but if I connected the USB cord and switched to the HPA7A245 printer driver I was able to scan, so that is what I have been doing ...using the HPA8500A910 driver for scanning and the HPA7A245 driver for wireless printing.

Now I am having printing problems: when I try to print a document it prints, but when I close out the document and try to print again, the printer message indicates it is printing, but it simply spools and does nothing. Same thing happens when I repeat the process. The only solution I have found is to turn off the printer then to turn it back on. However, the same issue comes up again. I then tried to delete both drivers, but can not locate the HPA7A245 driver to delete it, and am unable to delete the 8500A910 driver from my Control panel. When I attempt to delete the 8500A910 driver, the process begins, but never finishes.

I currently have the HP8500A910 basic driver, so decided to attempt to download the complete suite, but when I do, I am unable to connect the laptop to the printer. The IP address on the printer displays as HPA7A245, and I am wondering if that is the problem. I cannot find a driver for HPA7A245, so I appear to be stuck, unable to connect the full driver or to print successfully a second time.

I would really like to get rid of the HPA7A245 driver (that is the IP address showing on my printer when I push the lighted connect icon), download the full 8500A910 driver, and connect to that one, but am not able to. As I said, I cannot even delete the 8500A910 basic driver from my control panel. All of this is extremely frustrating, so any help would be appreciated.
