Re: windows 8.1 duplex printing

Hello,

I have a Deskjet 930C printer, but I don't have the Two-Sided Printing Accessory (I saw this exists on the page with the manuals).

In Windows XP when I selected "Two-sided printing"/"Book" on the "Features" tab, all the odd pages were printed, then a popup window was displayed asking me to take the printed pages and putting them back upside-down, and when I clicked OK the even pages were printed.

In Windows 8.1 the Two-Sided Printing option wasn't present.

After changing "Duplex Unit" to "Installed" as described above, there now is a "Two-Sided printing" dropdown box (I don't know the exact name that is used in English as I use a Dutch version of Windows 8.1).

But when I select 2-sided printing/long side from the dropdown box now, for a 3-page document the first page is printed normally, the second page is printed upside down and the last page is printed normally again, but the pages are printed one after the other without a popup window telling me to put the printed pages back upside-down and without the printer waiting for me to do so.

I suppose this is correct when you have the Two-Sided Printing Accessory installed (in the manual for the accessory I see there is a checkbox "Automatic" for the Two-Sided Printing feature), but I don't have the accessory and 2-sided printing (manual instead of automatic) was working fine under Windows XP. I haven't yet found the option to set the Two-Sided printing feature to "Manual" under Windows 8.1.

Could someone please explain how to do two-sided printing manually (so without the duplexer) under Windows 8.1?

Thanks a lot in advance.
