The driver software for my C7180 all-in-one printer will not install in Windows 8.1. It installed perfectly in Win 8, but after I upgraded to Win 8.1, and tried to run the HP Solution Center, I got an error that said the installation was incomplete. Proposed solution was to completely uninstall all HP software, delete the printer, and reinstall. Needless to say that did not work.
Once the software unpacks, I get a little popup that has 2 choices, Intall and Help. Pressing Install immediately displays "The system cannot find the specified file". No filename, just the error. Selecting Help returns a different file not found message and it gives the file name. In the path is a folder named .lang. and this folder does not exist. I suspect that .lang. is for a language variable that is not set in 8.1. I wonder if that is the same issue with the install program.
I have noticed that many other HP users are having the same issue with installing printer drivers for Windows 8.1.
Is anyone at HP addressing this issue?
