Yes, it is the printer assistant. When I click on it, like I said, the Windows hourglass starts. No window opens & I get no error messages. After a few seconds the hourglass disappears.
I've had the printer for about 3 years & it had been working fine. I did uninstall it & uploaded the most recent driver version from the HP web site. But it still does the same thing.
i am running Windows 7. It is a 64 bit operating system. If you need the exact version #, I'm not using that computer, but I could send that to you late tomorrow.
