After upating my software for windows 8.1 my printer works fine but I try to scan and nothing happens. The on and off button blinks when it looks like it is trying to scan. I get an error message saying that :
A required sofware component was not founmd or was improperly installed. Reinstall the HP photosmart software that came with the device, and try scanning again.
I tried reinstalling the orginal disk but because it was for my windows 7 computer it will not load in my new computer windows8.1. I download the new software drivers 8.1 in HP troubleshooting and installed it, everything works with the printer side just not the scanning part.
