Actually, I noticed the ability to fax is also gone. When I click the hp 8600 desktop icon, or go to start-programs-hp, there is no folder or window that allows one to fax from the computer using a printer assistant. So, the printer assistant or dashboard as some may call it is completely gone. So, the ability to choose between faxing or scanning is gone. Fortunately, the ability to pull up the scan window was possible using start-programs-hp-hpscan. But there is no way to fax using this process, as there was no hpfax folder under the hp folder.
