Driver for HP DesignJet 750c Plus to run on Windows 8 Machine

Greetings,

I have a large format plotter, the HP DesignJet 750c Plus, and I am trying to connect it to run on Windows 8 64-bit. On the HP Website, and after calling and speaking with a representative, we determined that there is no driver produced by Windows that will allow our specific plotter to connect with Windows 8.

I have looked at the forums here, and one suggested:

For 64 bit systems you can <look at the forum linked below, third post down> then unzip the files into a new folder.  Next go to the Devices and Printers folder, Add a Printer, select the proper port, then select "Have a Disk" and point to the folder where you unzipped the files http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-All-in-One-Software-Drivers-e-g-Windows-8/windows-7-print-driver-for-hp-designjet-750c-plus/td-p/1546083

The problem we ran into was that when we 'pointed to the folder where we unzipped the files,' the only file that was appearing in the windows box was the .setup file, which did not work. It may also be a problem that the driver reccomended appeared to be for Windows XP rather than Windows 8. This seems to be the main sticking point, that no driver has been created for this printer with Windows 8.

We have another computer here that runs on Windows 7 (which according to the website does not have a driver available for this plotter either; we were able to get this connected with the proper driver some time ago but have lost the code or information that allowed this to take place).

Any help or information would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Terence Welles
