I too am having this exact same issue on a new Dell XPS 8700 with 64bit win 7. The files extract and the installer disappears and upon check windows task mgr, it is not even running. I notice that a process under Setup.exe *32 with the detail of HP installer setup is listed under Processes, running the CPU at 13, but it appears not to change at all. I ran your auto file installer. Same issue. I have McAfee firewal and scann turned off. I need assistance asap as I need this printer for work!!
