The Deskjet 550C does not have drivers for Windows 7. The last time that this printer was supported was on Windows XP. Now one option you can try is installing an alternate driver. I have included the document 'Installing the Printer with an Alternate Driver in Windows 7 for a USB Cable Connection'. The alternate driver that you do want to use, is the Deskjet 9800 driver.
Please let me know if you are able to print after installing the alternate driver. :)
