With some of our new software, such as the Envy 4500 printer software, some of the features are a little bit different. I have downloaded the software onto my Windows 8.1 notebook, and tested out the Print Preview option on several programs.

What I have noticed is that when you do click on File, and then Print (sometimes), you do need to click on Print Preview. One good thing is that from the Print Preview window you do have an option to click print. This is usually a picture of a printer in the top left hand corner.

Chrome: File, and Print, will show preview automatically
Internet Explorer 11: File, and Print Preview
WordPad: File, hover over Print, click Print Preview

So to summarize it is different with each program, and how the software decides to interface.
