Bought a new ASUS laptop with Win 8 (64 bit) installed. Laptop and printer are both connected to the same network and I have successfully sent docs to the printer and printed successfully.
Problem:
When attempting to scan, laptop is not listed in menu. Error message 'Make sure printer software is on computer and that Scan to Computer is enabled'.
Action taken:
- Downloaded this driver for Win 8 (64 bit) http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4132&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5063582#N177.
- Downloaded latest updates/software to laptop from HP via HP Updates.
- Restarted computer.
- Got very cross.
- Submitted this request for help.
