Hi,
I just bought a Photosmart 5520 and as part of the setup procedure i connected it to the wireless network (not via USB first) and updated the firmware.
The first issue i now have is that at random times, we cannot print to it, but can ping it and load the web GUI. It seems to happen after it has been in standby for some time (e.g. overnight, and the power button has a solid light on it). The iPad and iPhones we have, also cannot detect it on the network. We restart the printer and everything works fine again.
The second issue i now have is that when i press the power button to turn the printer "off" it will flash the light on the power button indefinitley and not actually turn the printer off. If I press the button again, nothing happens. I end up having to pull the power cable out and plug it back in when we do need to restart it as above.
I noticed that the latest firmware on the HP site states something along the lines of "fixes an issue where the printer cannot be turned on after being turned off". This, as far as i can tell, resembles the above issue, but that firmware is installed.
Unfortunately, as i updated the firmware as part of the setup procedure, i do not know what the original firmware was.
Is this potentially a firmware issue? Was the new firmware tested to work properly when applying over all previous versions of the different firmware? Can i force a re-apply of the firmware?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
