Tried everything and hope I put it all back together and checked or unchecked as necessary. Nothing worked. Much of the recommendations were to make changes to files I couldn't find. This is 7 Home Premium and it may be different than plain old 7. In my search in my program files on my C: drive I found an HP folder then the HP 710 folder and I deleted it there too, but when I went to the control panel it was still there. When I tried again to uninstall it did the same - went to the end and stopped went backwards and I got a popup this time that says in a box titled HP Officejet 6500 E710n-z Basic Device Software. In the box after a blue circle with an "i" in it says
InstallCustomActions: CopyPortMonitorFiles: 3=CopyFile(Src: C:\Program Files\HP\Hp Officejet 6500 E710n-z\Bin\\HPDiscoPM5412.dll D st: C:\Windows\system32\HPDiscoPM5412.dll)
I think maybe I shouldn't have deleted it in the program files?
What a mess. I'm now days late on several projects I was to have had out last weekend. Do I need to get out the explosives and start over. I did back up my computer before all this but that doesn't help me get my work done and this computer isn't that old.
Thanks for the crossed fingers -next toes?
Can I send you these error messages as attachments in Word? Might save time if I can include attachments.
