I recently set up a new HP OJ 7110 wide format printer for an engineering company. This new printer replaced an older HP OJ 7000 printer that wasn't worth fixing. After installing the drivers on the server (MS 2008 SBS SP2), I realized that there was no way to configure a page size of 12"x18". That size was not listed in the driver software and there was no 'custom size' option available. After calling HP tech support and explaining the problem, the only way to use this printer with 12"x18" paper was to install the driver from the old HP OJ 7000 printer. This worked but I am still having some problems with printing to 12"x18" paper. All of the workstations in the office are running Windows 7 SP1 64-bit.
This is a civil engineering company that uses this printer to print 12"x18" paper almost exclusively. This is a common paper size yet the 7110 driver does not allow it! How stupid is that!!!! I almost had to pack up the printer and send it back. If I can't solve the remaining issues in printing to 12"x18" paper, I still may have to send it back.
