Hi xxxsenatorxxx,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I understand you were able to install the printer but you are getting a additional driver in devices and printers. I will be happy to help you. I would uninstall and reinstall the printer software and from the printer server properties. Here is how you can go about this:

  1. Go to start, devices and printers.
  2. Highlight any printer.
  3. Choose print server properties across the top.
  4. Click on the drivers tab at the top of print server properties window.
  5. Choose the printer you want to uninstall and click remove.
  6. Choose remove driver package.
  7. The next screen will give you a warning, letting you know that deleting the driver package will remove it from the system.
  8. Click yes to say that you are sure you want to do this.
  9. Then in the devices and printers window.
  10. . Right click your printer and remove or delete.
  11. . Disconnect the USB cable from the printer.
  12. . Go to start, computer.
  13. . Right click on the CD for the printer.
  14. . Left click on open in new window.
  15. . Double click on the uninstall.
  16. . Reboot the computer.

Now that we have uninstalled the printer successfully, we want to reinstall the software correctly. To do this follow the steps below:

  1. Download the appropriate printer software. Here is the HP LaserJet Pro P1102 Printer Drivers (USB only) and here is the HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Printer support (wireless/USB).
  2. Select the operating system and click next.

The driver didn't install successfully so what I have had you do is uninstall and reinstall the correctly.

I believe that this will provide a resolution to your issue. Thank you.
