7520 loses WiFi connection and Firmware Update does not work

Bought a Photosmart 7520 and trying to use it over a wireless connection but the connection keeps getting 'lost' by ths I mean that the 7520 seems to still think it has a connection, pressing the wireless button on the front screen displays the IP address and the router (a BT home hub) can still see the printer. Home hub sets a static IP address for the printer so that any device in the house can connect to it through the same port.

Spent some hours trying to get to the bottom of this and the only way to get it to work is to reset the router everytime you want to print! The problem is not with the router as there are numerous other devices connected through it and there has never been any issues.

Further googling and it appears I am not alone, this is a common problem with the printer.

So then I try to see of there is a firmware update and there is

Aug 13 which is later than the version I have and one of the fixes is: 'Fixes issues in the networking that can cause the printer to become unresponsive'. So I download it and try to install over wireless which fails, message box state: Problem Found: check connection to your computer, power on, not in an error state etc etc, so I go back to the download page and it says if you get this error conect via USB, I do this removing my wireless printer , creating a USB version, which works because I can print a page. Try and install the firmw again and get the same message as before Problem Found etc etc no other information or help

So here I am. I have a bit of technical knowledge but am now stuck, there's probably a lot of people that wouldn't get this far before they give up. HP you should feel ashamed to sell a product which is clearly not fit for purpose. Self service just wastes everyones time!!!
