The file from your link - 990-enu-win2k.exe - is only 16 MB. Is such a small file really the complete 990c package including the director program? The XP-F4580 package is 157 MB, the 6980 package even 258.
What I do have is a program called HPQDocViewer.exe, but I do not know, from which of my many installation attempts this has remained. It works, but the scanner access does not.
